Depends on the kids, depends on the home. I mean, I'm still living at home, but I left the organisation 3 years ago. I get the general feeling there are more older ones in the organisation, perhaps once you're past a certain age that promise of meeting your loved ones again, is all the more effective. Just my view though.

Average JW's age?
by jstalin inis there any demographic information available on jws, such as average age?
i have a friend who is a devout jw and he invited me to the memorial this year.
one thing that interested me is that there were perhaps 10 guys and girls under 30. my friend mentioned to me that most kids leave the org when they're around 18. he's 23, and still lives with his parents.

Snowboarding

Wrist guards, is something I may have to look into, but on my first lesson I used knee pads, but about five minutes into my second lesson I took them off, and all of a sudden my balance had improved immensely, I made it all the way down without falling flat on my arse, it was amazing the difference it made.

This is so wrong !!!!!!!

and saw a link they had for a website that listed sex offenders.
i clicked on it and put in my zip code, i could not believe how many sex offenders live in my area, what is worse is that i know two of those listed and i never, ever would have thought that they could be a danger to children.. what bothers me so much is that many of these offenders commited crimes against children, i would say that a good 90% of those listed had been convicted of molesting children.how do these people live knowing what they have done?

Ever have something weird happen in meeting, with APOSTATES!
by free2beme ini was at a meeting one time and the elder was giving the talk on "sex and marriage" on a sunday.
i always hated this talk and the elder giving it always seemed uneasy with such a bold topic in a mixed age group.
well, right in the middle of the talk, this woman stood up and asked "so, are you saying oral sex is wrong?

I remember my old man saying something along the lines of "This is a load of bullshit" to an elder once. I was very young and he was an unbeliever, but he had decided to come to memorial. He made the comment really loudly it was funny.

Was it like this when you left the witnesses?
by Sad emo inwhen i finally left the rc church after a long fade and joined another denomination, i got overwhelming feelings of guilt/doubt about what i had done.
i guess it wasn't helped by my sister's reaction to what i had done either - that just hurt even more.. now, 10 years on, i don't get the doubt and guilt as often, but when i do, the feelings seem even worse than they did when i first left almost to the point that i'd consider going back just to make them go away (but then i'd probably feel guilty about going back .
also, i seem to think that more 'bad' stuff has happened to me since leaving and when bad things are happening, i can't get away from the idea that god might be punishing me because i left the 'true' church and am therefore a really evil, sinful person who is only fit for hell and deserves everything i get.

Being negative and doubting your actions is a part of life, everybody does it, no matter what the decision is, everybody has regrets about things.
As for the more bad things happening since leaving, I don't know about you, but there's not alot worse that could happen to me out of the organisation, than what happened in it. It's becuase we were trained to believe that if somebody left the organisation, they were doing wrong, and when we find it happening to ourselves, for whatever reason, we get the guilt, purely because of instinct beaten into us over the years.
Giving up the organisation can be like giving up smoking, it's hard, you have this urge to continue doing it, despite knowing it's bad for you. It isn't until you're shown an image of somebody dying of lung cancer you realise the real danger.

I've loved what I've done with Snowboarding so far, even though I spend most of my time flat on my arse, but I still haven't mastered that damn ski lift...
