mahatma gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which.
produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet.
he also ate very little,.
The Truth That Leads to Everlasting Life......is that a pun?

why all the hatred towards my avatar?

Hey, I remember seeing someone that looked just like that at the last JW baptism I watched. Was that you?
since leaving the witnesses, has your life dramatically improved?
did it happen suddenly or is it a process?
You don't realize how much of a burden it is to be a JW until you let it go. I have to go along with others' comments about the leftover baggage though. Anger, regret/guilt.....it surfaces pretty easily for me when I think of 20+ years enslaved and wasted.
having read a recent thread on "mixed" marriages between active jws and non-jw (either faders or df'd) two things stood out for me.
first, there was a profound underlying sadness on the part of the non-jw poster (as there may also be on the active jw mates part) on the reduced intimacy of the relationship, both mentally and physically.
not being in this situation, but understanding what makes a marriage successful, i cant help but ask a rather harsh question....can anybody in this situation realistically envision how such a marriage can last in the long term?.
There is an elder in my hall whose wife is an "unvbeliever" He talks about her all the time in his talks. This is deplorable! If I ever had an inkling that happened with me, I would go ballistic. I'd have to really give him something to talk about.

I think there is a difference when comparing a marriage with an unbelieving mate™, someone who's never been a JW, to a marriage where one spouse becomes an apostate™. We apostates™ are viewed as the lowest of the low by JWs. We are demonized, almost rabid, in their estimat
Well said
If a JW married an unbeliever then they're not very hard-core or they wouldn't do it. When you make the comittment together and one checks out.....different story. Even if they claim to not abhor you, you only have to read the rags to know what they must think of you every time apostasy is discussed.
just choose your favourite color in this simple test and see the results.. http://www.gagirl.com/quiz/colours.html.
blue:.
lovers of blue are wonderful sex partners.
I do like blue....no doubt about it. But I'm strongly leaning towards red now:
RED:
People who like red tend to be tigers in the sack. They are easily aroused and enjoy sex in every way imaginable. Once the sexual spark is ignited, it may take hours to extinguish. When two reds get together, the ensuing erotica could make Lady Chatterly blush. Lovers of red tend to be aggressors and weaker colors should be aware.
intimacy in a mixed marriage
ok, time for my second poll.
the first one on secrecy struck a chord with many of you.
I was thinking about the topic of intimacy on the way home last night. It's something that's weighed on my mind a lot lately, since intimacy has become so strained and is now a dangerous topic of discussion in my marriage.
My husband is the closest representative of the WTS that I encounter. I hate the WTS with pure venom and the two of them are so hard for me to separate at times. But he isn't the WTS, is he? Sometimes I think I should try and explain to him how that affects our intimacy but I think he would assume I was asking him to choose between 'her' and me and he's already told me I would lose.
Just a thought...
i see a lot of happier people around here.
I have absolutely no guilt at leaving the WTS and its 'teachings'. I have guilt for having raised my children as JWs even though fortunately, none of them stayed in. I just feel they went through so much BS and missed out on so much. Anger stays with me; I think because my husband is still very active. It's hard to let something go and put it behind you when you're faced with it on an almost daily basis.

After all, once you have tasted of the choice fruit....
LOL jgnat....shouldn't that be the 'forbidden fruit'?
This was actually one of the areas hubby chose to ignore 'Mama's' counsel (towards himself) but I kindly pointed out that I didn't want to infringe on his conscience.
I just can't encourage hypocrisy. Surely celebrating a birthday can't be more wrong in Jah's eyes than oral sex.
