  in the waiting area of the medical office i took my husband to this morning.

  i removed them from the waiting area and they will soon be destroyed.

  i would have disposed of them at the medical office but i couldn't find a trash can.

  mrsjones, you're providing a great public service there.

  I recently found an Awake magazine in my doctors reception... I didn't bin it... I annotated the article on evolution, I thought it would be better if some JW picked it up a read the comments! Alas, I expect it was a waste of time - however it did keep me from having to pick up 'Devon Life' magazine, which features a vaste array of beautiful houses I can't afford :o( so thanks for that WBTS!!! You rock!

  PS. I've convinced some people that 'Awake' is pronounced 'A-wack-ee'. I don't know why I do it... I think I have mental issues, but it is fun. I tell them the WatchTower is from the US, and the Awackee is from Japan. Most people seem to believe anything you tell them about dubs, it's true... for example, just pick something mundane - for example - tell the next person that asks about dubs... "You know they don't eat fish - it's a sin", or "do you know they can't eat fruit on the third Sunday of each month?". They'll believe you. :P

  Neither the Bible or Dictionary support the new light on the Generation

  according to the governing body, the anointed who were on hand in 1914 will overlap the lives of todays anointed.

  these two groups make up one generation.. "bull".

  the bible supports the dictionaries definition of generation, matthew 1:1-17 shows abraham, isaac and jacob as three separate generations, verse 17 says: "all the generations, then, from abraham until david were fourteen generations.. the dictionaries definition say: all people born around the same time; a single stage in the descent of a family or group.

  Hey wasblind, the whole generation thing is a major thorn in the side of the borg. Those of us that lived through the 'change' can only admire the way the org has survived this redefinition of generation - many of us expected/hoped for a mass walk out! We should have known better!

  But to answer your question with a question - where in the bible is there any supporting evidence for "new light" itself?

  as i told you before, they boe have been considering me for the eldership.

  which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

  dos anyone remember how the dubs used to try and show how spirtual they were by how much they had underlined their watchtower?.

  this also happened to their bibles too, i saw one that was almost unreadable due to the mass of neon coloured highlighters and scribbles in the margin, myself i used to think "oooh they must be sooo spirtual!

  " but really... how hard is it to agree with brain washing when your brain washed yourself?

  I used to just highlight the word 'Jehovah' and 'Jesus' as a teenager... that was about 50% of the answers correct.

  I preferred to cover my bible and Watchtower in dribble, usually accumulated whilst attempting to sleep during meetings.

  Eventually I learnt to sleep with my eyes open, could successfully look up Ecclesiastes 1:29 (or some such), and even raise my hand randomly and say 'Geehova, zzzzz, zzzz' if a mic broke my line of dribble whilst dreaming away contently.

  Of course the biggest danger in sleep was the "electric violent head nod of sleep distress" (you guys know what I mean), which could be accompanied by a random outburst (or a sound similar to one acheived by poking a pig with a stick) - experts again learned to blurt out "Geesus, aymen, men, ahmen, <sigh>, zzzzz zzzzz zzz ".

  Some of these techniques serve me well in my career today.

  Did You Ever Secretly "Sin" & The Elders Never Knew About It?

  we, as elders, would every so often give a little talk about keeping the congregation clean and that if anyone felt the need to talk to us, to get whatever is bothering them off their chest, we would be readily available to them.

  you'd be shocked to see how many would tell us some naughty things they were feeling guilty about.. i'm sure there were plenty of smart people who simply kept quiet and didn't say a word.. here's your opportunity to tell us what you wouldn't tell them..

  Nope, he isn't. Jesus is some dead guy, and, 'a god' is some fictional big brother character made up by superstitious folk.

  Hi,you might know my big sister..

  im 19 and im still going to meetings.ive been sort of unhappy for a while.my older sister left the truth about 9 or 10 years ago.my brother was on her heels a couple of years later.ive been told that they were weak,selfish,posessed and drug addicts.i knew this wasnt true,they were both brilliant and caring of me.i havent spoken to them in at least 3 years.alot of gossip still circulates about them,especially sarah.she intimidated everybody and i suppose this is how they feel superior.. im rambling,sorry.im just overwhelmed.i ran into sarah at a walmart and she was radiant.i chatted her ear off for an hour and she hugged me when i cried.i told her i wanted out,that i know something isnt right but i m so scared.she suggested some of teh online groups to help.i guess she went to thomschat but thats not there anymore.she said my struggle would be different than hers because she never believed in the witnesses.i did.any advice or books to read or whatever you suggest,i just want to learn.she said crisis of conscience would probably help.okay thanks..

  Hi Firefox... Welcome to the forum - you're not alone. I remember sitting in meetings, looking around at the folks around me thinking 'am I the only one that thinks this stuff is a bit far fetched?'. It turns out I wasn't; there's plenty of us! If you're worried about anything, just post - far cleverer people than I will answer pretty much any questions and offer great advice. Think of the forum as your secret "wonderwall". Nice to hear from you.
