i found out the other day that i have endometrial cancer.
needless to say, i'm shocked, angry and desperate.
i blame this on my incompetent doctor who did absolutely nothing when i first went to him two years ago and said "there's something wrong here.
Mary,
My heart goes out to you and your family, I have no good advise, but I am thinking and praying for you.

i've had a hard time finding a place just to chat with jw's.
i'm not baptized...only studying.
yet, i know this is truth and jehovah is the true god.
Hi there,
I'm not sure whether you are going to come back and read any of these posts, my advise to you is......
READ YOUR BIBLE AND PRAY TO GOD SILENTLY THIS WILL HELP AS HE WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY SPIRIT TO DISCERN WISELY WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE. PLEASE DO THIS WITHOUT ALL THE OTHER LITERATURE YOU ARE GIVEN.
I was a witness for 30 years and I have done this and it's like I had been reading another book, please DO NOT get baptised until you know everything.
Also I am learning that we will never be acceptable to God if he is looking at us based on works. He sent his son to all sinners, the first person he spoke to in his ministry was a woman who was a fornicator.
He said if you believe in me you will be saved. Not you must preach for 10 hours a month and goto 5 meetings a week.
Do you really realise what an apostate is? It is someone who denies Christ, not someone who doesn't do as JWs tell you to.
Anyway please stay and enjoy real loving companionship here at this site, we do really CARE.
Luv
Tish
i have an elderly sister, who drops of the mags to my business address, and has no idea i am an ex jay dubb.
what subject would you bring up with her to show the jay dubbs have been misleading her, without making her suspicious as to my real id?.

i just got off the phone with my mom and ...even though i had trouble with my "native" language...i still got the message to her.
jehovahs witnesses are bad!
(sounds more dramatic in my language) we spent about 40 mins talking on the phone back and forth in the "disfellowshiping" rule.
I agree, the more info you try to give her anti JW the more she will be more inclined to think you are an apostate and will probably at least limit or even stop you coming round to see her. The less you say the more they are intrigued!
Grit your teeth and wait for the right time.

just been given this watchtower and found the 2nd study article very interesting..... is this the societies damage control to panorama and dateline?.
para 8 onwards says...... 8 satan tries to break our integrity through the sowing of doubts about what we have been taught.

Thanx for all of your replies. I get the WT from a little old sister who does the business territory, and she brings them into me regularly, I can see the excitement in her eyes, that I always say that yes I have read them and yes please bring me more. If she knew I was D/F it would stop.
I haven't got a scanner but it is from the September 15 WT with the cover about Saints. If someone else can do it that would be great.
Funny enough she wants my views, now where do I start?

i have not been a very active poster lately [have you missed me?].
there has been plenty of drama in my life the last few weeks, and my time has been absorbed by it.
my grandma is seriously ill, and has but a few more months to live.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Viv)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Missed you loads old buddy.
Sorry to hear about your nan, if I was you I would just agree to it now, but on the day change your mind, so they are not prepared for it, and then no-one can put any pressure on your family, to make you sit at the back, which they obviously have.
When my nan died, my aunt attended as an apostate and she sat at the front with our family, that was the first time I had met her since I was a child, and there were myths about apostates having 2 heads and everything, but when I met her she showered me with love and kind words and I realised we had wronged her all our lives, I hang my head in shame and love her more because she has so much love for us despite the years of pain she put up with.
Love you Aunt Gloria in Cincinatti, OH

when i was in the truth i thought that the most ludicrous and petty ruling they ever introduced and still practiced is that congregation book study conductors were and are responsible for collecting every group members report.
surely every member ought to be responsible for his/her own actions.
at the beginning of the following month and certainly before the 5th i would always receive the stupid telephone call from the secretary are you aware that 3 publishers havent reported?
My mum always had to either put a tea towel on her head to say a prayer when my dad wasn't home to say prayers at the dinner table as my brother was present!
When I was courting we were not allowed to hold hands in the KH. Once we did this and does anyone know Bro Jessop a UK CO/DO he turned round at us and gave us the look of death, and my boyrfriend at the time lost his privledges!

8 Satan tries to break our integrity through the sowing of doubts about what we have been taught. Today, as in the first century, apostates and others seek to destroy the faith of the guideless ones. (Gal 2:4; 5:7,8) Sometimes they use the media to spread distorted information or even outright lies about the methods and motives of Jehovah's people. Paul warned that some would be turned away from the truth quotes 2 Tim 4:3,4
Are they insiuating that JWs are Guideless Ones?
9 Instead of holding to the pattern of healthful words, some were intrigued by "false stories". What were these false stories? Perhaps Paul had in mind fanciful legends, such as those found in the apocryphal book of Tobit* False stories may also have included sensational and speculative rumours. Then, too, some - "in accord with their own desires" - may have been intellectually seduced by those who endorsed a permissive view of God's standards or who were critical of those taking the lead in the congregation. (3John 9,10; Jude 4) Whatever stumbling blocks were involved, some evidently preferred falsehoods over the truths of God's Word. Soon they stopped practicing the things they had learned, and this was to their own spiritual detriment - 2 Pet 3:15,16.
10 We can avoid turning aside to false stories today if we scrutinise and are selective about what we listen to and what we read. For example, the media often promote immorality. Many people encourage agnosticism or outright atheism. Higher critics ridicule the Bibles claim to divine inspiration. And modern day apostates keep on trying to sow seeds of doubt in order to subvert the faith of Christians. Regarding a comparable danger posed by false prophets in the first century, the apostle John warned: "quotes 1 John 4:1" So we need to be careful.
These stories they are talking about the bible and not their own teachings arent they?
11 In this regard, Paul wrote "quotes 2 Cor 13:5" The apostle urged us to keep testing ourselves to determine whether we are adhering to the body of Christian beliefs. If our ears are inclined toward disgruntled ones, we need to analyze ourselves prayerfully. (PS 139:23,24) Are we included to find fault with Jehovahs people? Is so, Why? Have we been hurt by the words or actions of someone? Is so, are we keeping things in proper persepective? Any tribulation we face in this system of things is temporary. (2 Cor 4:17) Even if we experience some trial in the congregation, why should we quit serving God? If we are upset over something, is it not far better to do what we can to resolve the matter and then leave it in Jehovahs hands? - Psalms 4:4; Prov 3:4,5; Eph 4:26
What about analysing the organisation prayfully? If we are hurt by a rapist are they implying that we
should just put it down to a temporary tribulation to endure until Armageddon?
12 Rather than being cynical, let us maintain a spiritually healthy view of the information received through personal study and congregation meetings. (1 Cor 2:14,15) And instead of questioning Gods Word, how much wiser it is to have the attitude of the first-century Bereans who examined the Scriptures closely! (Acts 17:10,11) Then, let us act on what we learn, turning down false stories and clinging to the truth.
Do we question the bible or the literature of the WTS?
13 There is another type of false story that we need to be on guard against. A great many sensational tales circulate, often by means of e-mail. It is wise to be cautious about such tales, especially if we do not know the original source of the information. Even if an experience or story was sent by a reputable Christian, that individual may not have firsthand knowledge of the facts. That is why it is important to be cautious about repeating or forwarding unverified accounts. We surely would not want to repeat "godless myths" or "false stories which violate what is holy." (1Tim 4:7 NIV).
So an experience of an reputable Christian should always be treated like a Godless Myth????!!
What do you think??

when you were an active dub, a minister of the truth it was called the ministry.
