  i estimated that perhaps 90% are white european type.. many properbly speak germanic languagues.. am i right?.

  it is quite amusing to read watchtower publications where they with badly hidden scorn criticizes the catholics for willfully adopting pagan holidays and customs into christianity.. pagan beliefs christianized.

  instead of trying to obliterate peoples customs and beliefs, the popes instructions were, use them.

  It is a very hard thing to get substances (and activities!) under control.
  
  Some think you have to go clean of everything, but I do not agree. You have to control or get rid of the problem substances.

  i've been thinking of this a lot lately.

  the following experience ties my first doubt in with my present life.

  as a backdrop to this, you should know that i was a 5th generation "raised in the truth" jw through my mother (her great-grandfather got "the truth" from pastor russell).

  Disassociating oneself

  what if: the elders announce that so-and-so has disassociated themselves from the borg, and the person who is being disassociated stands up and says, excuse me, i have done no such thing!.

  isn't the religion announcing that a person has disassociated themselves like an employer stating that an employee quit when they didn't have any intent to do so?

  isn't that an employers way of getting some technical legal way out of paying severance etc?
