  Increase of war--staggering statements from the Really Teach book

  the "bible teach" book, on p.89 says:millions of people have been killed in wars during the past century.

  one british historian wrote: "the 20th century was the most murderous in recorded history...it was a century of almost unbroken war, with few and brief periods without organised and armed conflict somewhere.

  " a report from the worldwatch institute states: "three times as many people fell victim to war in [the 20th] century as in all the wars from the first century ad to 1899.

  The 31 year period from 1914 to 1945 does seem almost to be the bloodthirstiest period of history, perhaps apart from the 13th century. One can almost understand why Judge Rutherford got all excited. But what seems most odd is that since 1945 the world has been in relatively the most peaceful period in all human history. Doesn't Carl Olof Jonson's book have quotes from historians that support this? If it's true then it certainly seems that the four riders of the apocalypse went back into their stalls in 1946.

  attend 5 kingdom hall meetings each week.. report at least 10 hours a month in field service.. confess sins to your local elders.. report any other person's sins to your local elders.. believe everything the "faithful discreet slave" publishes in the pages of the watchtower.. wear a coat and tie (male) or modest skirt/dress (female) to all kingdom hall meetings.. do not 'partake' of the wine and bread at the memorial.. .

  And even after all those decades of faithfully going to the meetings, getting 10 hours, marking up for the meetings, etc, only "...probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger".

  hi, apparently the society publishes every year study articles on a certain theme (eg, an annual 'donations' article, an annual 'why women are valued in the bible' article, etc).

  i'm just wondering how many of these supposed theme articles are put out each year, and do they generally appear at the same time each year?

  can we guess what some of these up and coming study articles might be be?

  Hehe look at their faces. Sure looks like you make them squirm. They love to give it but hate to take it. They have the expressions of the self-righteous pharisees as depicted in Watchtower illustrations when Paul or Jesus was talking to them.

  Bet he never got reproved huh? How come the Joe Blow publisher can't just stand up in front of the congregation and apologise for getting drunk, having a cigarette, or fondling his girlfriends norty bits, yet pricks like Ciro Aulicino who decided it was ok to join the UN don't even get so much as a slap on the hand for what is, by the Society's own definition, rank apostasy. Rank hypocrites.

The Bible is not studied to find out what it teaches, rather, a Watchtower publication is studied instead! The "Truth" book, the "Knowledge" book, the "Draw Closer to God" book and so on, are all substituted for the Bible. "
  
  
  LOL. Well I guess this thread just shows that even raving apostates are just as prone to extreme black-and-white fallacious argumentation that they accuse the Society of.
  
  Name me one Christian religion or group that doesn't use or promote some kind of 'study aid' with the bible.

  Im annoyed about this

  having been out of the org for a while now i have come to realise that when you think about certain viewpoints/activities of jw`s, it can really make you annoyed/upset/angry/laugh etc etc.

  one thing that is pissing me off right now and has done for a while, is their attitude towards 'the worlds selfish pursuits'.

  how often did you hear that those who seek an education to get a good job are 'seeking glory for themselves' and are doing the wrong thing.
