  i apologize but i posted this on another thread and then decided it really deserved its own thread.

  yes, i know that is only my opinion but what else have i to go on?.

  thanks to a pm someone sent me we can now compare 10 months of the current service year to last year's service report.

  As of May 05 till May 06 27K babtized and only 11 up on the pub´s. Does that mean that 16K..eh...stopped?

  :-) I´d say: 16/27 = 60% does not make the grade of becoming a "ripe christian". So much for speeding up things.....

  nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

  in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

  there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

  i can see how someone could be agnostic in their view.

  who knows, who cares?

  thinking that perhaps "god" is just a spiritual santa claus for people who are afraid of death, etc..... but atheism?

  Who posted a picture where they lived....in a forrested mountain region

  someone here at jwd posted a picture of where they lived.. it was in a remote, very green, forrested, mountain region.

  .

  the person also posted a picture of his dog inside his car/truck.. i wanted to find out where that serene, quiet area is in the world.. i wonder what jobs one can get in order to live in such places.. --vm44 (of the want to get away from it all class).

  Mother's DA letter

  well, after 10 years, they are asking a letter from my mom.

  don't know why...but they said it's that or they df her.

  well, she really wants to jump at the chance to vent for what they are doing to her family.

  Hi lilicurly,

  Very nice! Good for your mum. However, before you do just sent that of.....please consider two things:

  1) Use a spelling checker. There are some anomalies in your script right now. 2) I understand that your mother does not want to be DF. But what's the point? Just don´t show up on a JC and don´t sent the letter either. You know, when it serves their purpose, they do not entrust you with their own letters explaining their idiocies, although you notice how they entrusted you with their rubbish every week. So, why would you consider them to be worthy of your precious words calling upon an official DA? Whicj is in fact rubbish as well?

  at our special assembly day, there was a visiting speaker from bethel.

  don't remember his name, but he was a humorless and austere gentleman who was very clearly a company man.

  he said many questionable things, especially in the way he generalized about "the world" and "worldly ones.

  Statistical effect of disassociating the inactive

  it has been tossed around several times on the forum, and invariably someone pipes up that the wts will never do it because of the adverse effects on the numbers.

  there is a glaring flaw in that reasoning.. the inactive are never counted as publishers.

  the numbers that are reported are of active, reporting publishers.. if they disassociate every single person who is inactive and refuses to reactivate themselves, the numbers will not be negatively affected at all.

  BB, a very good distinction you make there. Although I agree with AS that the stage has been set. Please, read the org book that happened to see the daylight. It is possible, based on the regulations set out there, to dispose of disordely people. It is not necesary to have sinned grosly and unrepentantly.

  If so desired, yea, they need to elaborate further on the strategy. Like Blondie said: nothing indicates dramatic developments, however, the mechanism are in place.

  Metatron did a thread on that one. I made some comments on the warming up of the issue. It could be done, you know.

  our new circuit overseer was telling us yesterday that we should be careful that we use scriptures in context, and should always be ready to explain the verse in context if the householder queries our interpretation.

  because some people have claimed that jehovah's witnesses take verses out of context!

  well it strikes me that the society does not set a very good example for the publishers in this regard.
