Amos 3:7 (Jehovah reveals to his prophets first) + 2007 Year's Text

was speaking to a jw friend the other day (he knows i have 'doubts').

he asked me what i thought of the 2007 year's text.

i said it would be nice if jehovah did intervene soon, but that i felt that the society is wrong to be constantly telling everyone how 'near' the end of the system is, that they have been doing this for over 120 years, and that we should just focus on being good christians without always thinking the end is close all the time.

Should I leave the WTS?

after hearing the coverups and scandals, im thinking about leaving the wts for good.

while reading all of these coverups, i felt like my wife just cheated on me with my brother.

Hi Hamilton,

Welcome to the board. The issue you are facing right now, is to have yourself under control and make an informed descision. For me, it took a weekend to go through all the stages of madness, sorrow, disappointment, re-evalluations etc. But coming up with a plan......Like amazing said: walk away....but really walk away.....is something you can do in certain circumstances and if you are strong & independent enough. Fading is an art and if you have only family & friends INSIDE the borg, than you´ll have a long way to go.

You care fully need to plan how you will fade out....how to fend them off, to cover up your initial responses to chanleenges and show different ones.

So, you basically have to descide whether you brace for impact on a once in a lifetime blow or a gradual retreat with all the boobytraps that come with it.

Whatever you choose to do, keep your goal in focus, don´t get sidetracked by stuff they might throw at you. You´ll find support here, so, keep us posted on your progress.

Did Adam know the full consequences of his sin?

" romans 5:12. this verse has been used to prove that adam was responsible for sin and death.. from a christian standpoint, this is true.

did adam really know the full effects of eating the forbidden fruit?.

people have tried to relate to the vastness of the universe and all the "wonders" that happen around them but were not able to explain the reasons and occurance. Why does it suddenly happen that we are at war, we have floodings, drought, storms, eclipses, you name it.

Over time, while progressing in knowledge, God and all he stands for, has been gradually moved to the background. When any issue was explained away with: it´s Gods will, we now see different influences which fuzz up a simple and straight forward "explanation". God moves in mysterious ways, for sure. If you don´t know the path......This difference in knowledge has always been used by certain men to advance their political interest and position. Interesting how religion has played, and still playes, a huge role to achieve that end. For example: Druids have left no written records of their thoughts and knowledge. They told wild stories about the gods. These stories could only be well understood by those with knowledge. For the common man it was just a thing to pass the time, hang on to whatever hope he might gain, it would direct his action to a degree and the ones with knowledge could easily influence the masses. Reading the liver or other intestines. Come on.

The same goes with A & E. They became aware, knowledgeble. God did not like that....What would happen if they would think for themselves.....OMG.....INDEPENDENT THINKING has brought mankind to ruin! Strange is it not? While pondering over human capabilities, the genesis accounts of A&E and the tower of Babel come to appear only attempts to explain the wonders around them.

Call it: growing up. Like little kids do.

i talked to him, but he never responded.

whenever something good happened to me, i believed that he had everything to do with it.

A friend of mine seem to have a relationship. I was wondering wether or not he perceives it as a one way street. I´m gonna talk to him soon. I´ll keep you posted if you are intersted.

this has nothing to do with whether i love my wife.

i always will.. pragmatically, i have come to the devastating conclusion that i don't want to be married to a jw.

I was digesting some of the comments here and on some other threads about the reason pleople start doubting or leaving the Borg. It seems like there are two main strands: recognition that the whole thing is crap and lack of love. Say: someone stays in because not the crap is more important but the social structure, the friends, the net so to speak. Only when a point comes where a clear and present lack of love is shown: eyes turn open, wouldn´t you say? If the cong one is in shows (perceived) real affection: how big chance is there that a lack of love will ultimately drive someone out?

What is Rom 15: 20,21 getting at?

romans 15: 20 & 21 "in this way, indeed, i made it my aim not to declare the good news where christ had already been named, in order that i might not be building on another man's foundation; but, just as it is written: "those to whom no announcement has been made about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.

could this be used to show that jw's are wrong to condemn all other christians as false, because as long as these other christians have accepted christ and have him as their foundation, does it really matter if some of their doctrines are not quite right?

i think this scripture shows that jw's are wrong to focus so much on the faults of other christian religions.

Do you dream you are back in the Borg?

i have depressingly frequent dreams of being back in the borg.

i am out on the work thinking why am i here i don't do this anymore.
