Is the WTS increasing or decreasing?

any facts showing whether the wts is growing or showing that it is declining?

you brought us very interesting info. Thank you! I was contemplating to not attending next week sunday WT study due to the unbearable rubbish they produce but I now was thinking: why not, and rub it in some more using some of your statistics in par. 15-18.

I was wondering why 2007 showed rejuvenation as you called it. Because I could not think of anything dramatic going on, like sept 11, it must have been something from the org itself. And then it hit me: it must have been the 15 minute preachers that were again counted.

I haven't checked on the figures yet, but I would suspect the following:
- increase of average hours per newly babtised between 2006 and 2007. ( I believe the arrangement took effect end of 2006) - decrease of the average hours reported per regular publisher between 2006 and 2007.

But perhaps you could make some comment on that.

They would not. There is no policy for it. I guess that big A would just go ahead and prepare everything. Maria, who got pregnant while being engaged to Joseph, would be on a JC right away because anyone can see she must have had sexual intercourse outside of the marital arrangement........

could jw's prove their beliefs without watchtower literature?

i was pondering this question today.

i thought it might be an interesting tactic to use with my family.

if i simply asked that they prove all beliefs by the bible alone.. growing up - every time discipline or counsel was given - it was based on getting out the bound volumes.

Jw won't go beyond what is written and that includes the things written in the literature of the fateful and desecrate slave as per the WT this year. So they finally have put on higher footing their own writings. The bible may say x but its application is y so it means y just becaue their literature says so in spite off overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

In short: they will try but are not able to.

they are being very vague, but it is obvious that they are trying to stir up speculation/excitement.. the entire magazine appears to be about the house to house ministry.

They've used this 7 times around Jericho thing in the wake of 1975.I believe it was the WT 1970 january 15th or the English WT of 3 months earlier.

They compared the 7th march to the 6 years that were left unto 1975 and any time now, Christendom could be shaking off its foundations as indicated in prophesy. Time is short and we have to give ourselves completely to the preaching work and God will give us strength and support while the last march gains in insensitivity.

Bloody rehash in par 15. Tossers. Are they secretly suspecting 2012 to be the date? Looks like it.......

possible reason for end of BS?

it occurrd to me that maybe there was some independent thinking going on in the bs.

maybe the gb was afraid of small groups thinking too muchand having them all meet at the kh would put paid to any groups that were becoming a bit liberal.

as is known small bible study or at study groups were not allowed at bethel.

one) theocratic ministry school will shortened till it is finally replaced by the congregation book bible study.. two) field service hours will no longer need to be reported and over time no records on similar things will be reported.. three) the public edition of the watchtower will cease to exist leaving awake as the sole placement.

first, some background: when i first began to have doubts about whether the jw religion was "the truth," i performed quite a bit of research on the faithful and discreet slave doctrine...in the society's literature, of course.

like many of us, i had never really examined the doctrine.

well, needless to say (but i'll say it anyway), i found major flaws in the society's interpretation of the parable of the faithful and discreet slave.

Hi Philospher,

Glad you are here! And glad you made the decision of taking it easy and becoming financially independent of your family. Please, be aware, that the more you read and learn the harder it is to keep your peace. This is not to say you should not acquire more info and perception on topics of your interest, but just be aware of what to say and when. I still go to meeting on Sundays but hardly any meeting passes without cringing in my seat. As a matter of fact, I just finished a nice meal with an elder in a restaurant and on certain things I had to bite my tongue. Loads of elders do dissent but try to solve everything within the confines of "Jehovah's arrangement" (which will eventually not come to pass). Nevertheless, I was able to discuss some out of the box positions.

But it all depends on the extend of liberalism of the person who you're talking to. And sometimes you get disappointed in that expectation. And then it may start to hurt. So, I wish you bonne chance and keep in touch with us. This is a perfect place to vent!

Atheist need to start fighting fire with fire LITERALY

i was watching some program on the inquisition.

you know that thing christianity would love for you to forget happened.. when the court system of rome failed the christian courts took over they instituted trial by ordeal.. simply put any accused of a crime would be tortured tested to see if they were innocent by many forms of painful test to see if god would come to the accused's defence.

if they were innocent then no harm would happen to them because of their faith, of course pretty much 100% of the time they were hurt an were summarily executed punished with all the love of jesus in mind.. atheist should due the same accuse all of christians of crimes and force them into trial by ordeal to prove their innocence and backed by god.

Although I concur with the basic idea behind your suggestion i.e. god will not come to the defence of people who believe in him to prevent physical harm, I do detest the idea of torturing people for that reason, or any reason. I think Adolf and Jozef have proved beyond a doubt that this is not the answer.

IMHO people with faith in a god will not surrender to what evidence what so ever to the contrary because their faith blinds them. For all of us there has been a point where our blind faith was tested because of a point of dissent or a point that did not add up...or did not add up to what we liked....and started to research more.

Education, free exchange of information is the biggest threat to mental barbarism...i.e. religion.
