Does anybody feel like if not for the Internet we could have still been in
by ladione5000 inthe dark?
walking around knocking on peoples doors and telling them they are going to die if they do not follow our beliefs?.
i for one feel like this is the new world, and there is just no stopping this super highway we call the internet... it is like a whole new world, we can now talk and meet people around the world.

Would have only heard of CoC from the internets.
But, right before I left my hometown for college i was starting to talk to the ...apostates! They always came into the bakery I worked at. Of course that's where the car groups went for break too!

I got my "end of false religion" tract
by Junction-Guy inone of my friends at work brought me the tract, she said they left it at her door.
i was so excited to finally read it for myself, i was grinning ear to ear when she handed it to me.. after reading it over i did find one inconsistency---- if you look on the back there is an advertisement for the "pay attention" brochure.
if you look closely at the 2 african women in the pic above, well those women are reading this brochure, if you look close enough you will see it is the same "pay attention" brochure, however there is one minor difference in details.

Yeah, they do this with women's mags too- like for the same month, there is a european edition of Elle and also a latina edition, all with different looking women.
I actually liked this about the WT and Awake- not just shoving pics of white people down the throats of west africans or something. But I guess they shove their western traditions down their throats soon enough...

I like science, evolution, going to school, doing art, being a wino, politics, hanging out with non-witnesses and sex-out-of-wedlock too much. THOSE are the things that made me decide not to be a witness.
All of that was totally aside from all the "apostate" stuff like 607/UN/Mexico/Malawi/flip-flops/lack-of-love that have been the primary information I have gotten from the internet on the dubs.

that would make him a close contemporary of noah.
using only flint and copper tools , do you think this ancient man and his family could have built the biblical ark?

But despite all the sound reasoning on why it could not be possible to construct and maintain an ark of those porportions for that length of time.....
It won't matter one whit to the JWs cause JEHOVAH WOULD MAAAAAGICALLY TAKE CARE OF ANY POSSIBLE PROBLEM THAT COULD EVER CROP UP.
If they actually even ever responded to REASON, perhaps our arguments might make sense.
There's no reasoning with these people.

What was the reason why you were never made an elder or Ministerial Servant
by twinkletoes inthe reason i heard constantly by the elders, as to ones spiritual progress in the organisation was, .
"brothers are appointed by holy spirit.".
if this is the case, why is god speaking to himself when he says in 1 tim 3 v 6 .not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up with prideetc.. to re-iterate if god appoints elders, why would he give himself this advice ???.

Daystar- yup the guilt over sex never got to me either. I was super excited to be able to have sex but it was not a weird build up about something unattainable.

The Loved Up Thread [Fluff]
by diamondblue1974 init might have escaped your notice but sirona and i are totally in love and seem to have a mutual appreciation society thing going on; however this has not taken place without causing some online problems as some of you might be aware.. both dawn (sirona) and i are conscious that we have hijacked a number of threads given our perpetual state of being loved up.
given the untold frustration we might have caused to some posters we have decided to launch our very own jwd loved up thread.. this hopefully should allow threads to go on being productive without the frustration of people (us) whispering online sweet nothings and flirting and we therefore invite you all to use this thread if you are loved up, have similar mutual appreciation societies or simply wish to flirt with other online posters.
