i take full responsibility for what i experienced this evening.
yet, i feel the need to share this experience that has me enraged.
Be very careful he's gotten a taste of how nice the JW's are and as a mother who has two sons torn from me by the bOrg, they'll turn him against you. You'll soon be the bad guy and they will be the good ones. My sons are 4 and 6 and cry when they tell me they're father said Im going to die in Armaggedon.

do you think it's possible today that people, maybe you or i, may have one or more demons in us, controling us to a certain extent?
I dont know, Im still kinda on the ledge about this one. I went through it once. I kept hearing voices and conversations but no one would be there when I'd look from where they were coming from . Ive also heard stories of other people feeling hands on them and being held down and it turned out that there was like Satanic shrine in the basement of the house and stuff. Tons of other stories similiar to have been told to me.
So I must say im not sure on this one.

we push people away and keep them at a distance out of fear.

many ex-jw's have an odd habit of pushing people away.
I just left and Ive noticed that issue with myself as well. I can get along with people but the no-bond habit seems to stick with me. Im working on it though. The problem is Im not quite used to it and it makes me uncomfortable now. Its like walking into a church with crosses and stuff, you feel uncomfortable. (Actually I feel scared of churches)
is this a common issue for exjws?
or do you find it easy to just get on with it?
having lost all the jw friends, you find that you can't bring yourself to let others get too close, even pushing them away (old habbit dying hard).
I just posted something similar to what everyone has experienced.
Im so used to ignoring everyone outside the kindom hall that I have to catch myself sometimes. Im used to just saying hi and never letting anyone get close enough to be a good friend. Fearing that their ultimate goal would be to inject me with worldly poison. I would say YES its hard leaving the bOrg and finding new friends.
We need to make like a support group for ex jw's so we can get over our worldlypeoplephobia issues.

todaythings have really come to a head and i have a massive decusion to make by 7pm tonight!.
basically i have been dfed since march tryed to get reinstated two weeks ago but they said no, thing is i only did it for my family esp my dad he is not well and i love him to pieces.
but when i got dfed i had a boyfriend and things have been up and down (hes put up with alot) but he is sticking by my side and i love him and want to be open about him and not lie anymore, .

Ive been there and my mom begged me not to leave the elders came over a million times and asked me not to leave.
How can you live on like this, you'll resent your dad always for making you lose your boyfriend. You already know what life is like in the organization but you'll always look back to now and ask yourself how would life had been if you had left when you had the chance. Things will seem bad and hopeless and feel like they get worse but they'll eventually get better. Its been 7 mths since I was disfellowshipped and Im still recovering but Im happy now. No one will live your life but YOU, you already have doubts about the organization and you always will. That will never change. Other aspects of your life you can change if you want to.

i mean really, was this just a regional thing where i grew up?
we had to have a chaperone always with the opposite gender even if we were old!
When I was courting I found it exciting to find ways to sneak kisses and hold hands when the chaperone wasnt looking. We did it all the time. My mom would chaperone and somtimes she would fall asleep while we were watching a movie together or something and we'd go at it. Got all hot and bothered and she was in the room..........yes Im a freak.
Saddest part was had I known he was not blessed in the right areas I would not have married him. I am no longer married to him and found someone blessed in all the right places if you know what I mean.
in canada, at least, there is a trend that more and more seats are being reserved for the elderly.
first it started with the ice level.
then the first two rows around the ice level.
Ive noticed it also. In Chicago our assemblies consisted of the whole first floor for the elderly. With baptisms at minimums.
I also noticed congregations losing more and more new ones and a lot of disfellowshipping. I have to say I think the internet is a big influence on people leaving. Before it wasnt as easy to get others perspectives or see what we can see about them now on the internet. Since they were always telling us not to research out of the Society publications how would anyone ever see deeply into the facts. Its largely what contributed to my leaving the organization.

When we touch the issue of God having a son, I wonder why?
We reproduce I think to leave a sort of legacy. So when we no longer exist we have something of ours to live on. Why would God need to have a son? If he has a son and we are created in his image (God's) does God have a wife or a female counterpart? Why is Jesus never mentioned in the old testament?
Perhaps maybe even God is not literal or a personification as we make him out to be. Maybe Jehovah is just a source of life an energy source so to speak.
The ancient civilizations mostly all worshipped the sun, not really for it being a person like us but just being a source of life and done mainly in appreciation for its many benefits.

i am not and never have been a jw, but have recently become involved with a man who is, and i hope some of the people here can help me because i'm confused.
As an ex JW, I have seen it many times. Men go out in search of a wife or mate and look for one they see as someone good hearted that may "make the truth their own". Meaning he's killing two birds with one stone. He finds a mate and at the same time he "saves" you. Unless he is completely decided on leaving that religion alone and leaving it behind it will be nothing but drama in your life.
Soon comes the pressure to go to a few meetings, then a bible study with some other JW's. Think about what your life would be like to raise children with him if you dont completely believe what he believes. If he hasnt on his own decided to leave the JW's, he may never do it. It entails lots of heartache. Leaving people you've known for years. Beliefs that fill every crevice of your mind and affect every aspect of your life. The biggest thing for most I think is the guilt factor.
Unless you plan on converting, leave this man alone until he leaves them on his own.

After years of being a JW, Im now on the outside and I question everything. One thing I cant deny though is that Jehovah is God. One and only. My doubt now is, was Jesus just tagged on as a reason to create Christianity. Was Jesus just a revolutionary upset about the injustices in the Jewish system. Jehovah never really declared his "son" would be the Mesiah. I seriously doubt the new testament and anything in it. Just looking for opinions and viewpoints........please dont hold back.
If your no longer in the JW's do you now doubt Jehovah's existance?
