Please help me, I need advice on dating a JW!!

ok, i'm new here, so please be gentle.

maybe the advice i need is somewhere else in this forum, but i really don't want to have to search for it, i really need some advice now and i don't have the time to sift through all of the other entries here.

Hypocricy is no big deal with JW's, they pretty well HAVE to be they have so many darn rules.

This happens without them having any ideal they are being hypocrites.

You onn the rebound, he's a virgin, never had a girlfriend, loves you in a couple of weeks AND talking of marriage. Without him being a JW i would have alarm bells.

His family except you? Watchout for the underlying stuff they may try and change you.

How do I support JW other half?

just lately my soon to be mother in-law is giving my other half an incredibly hard time.

she is crying all the time about us, trying to get his siblings to spy on us.

ringing when she knows both of us when we are home together.

Thank you Rebel and Jgnat,

I now WON'T be going to study with her, I WILL openly invite his siblings in for a coffee, when they have walked past my stables or house for the 3rd time. MIL is mostly sending the youngest, who is the best kid.

I talked to my other half this morning, when he gets home in two weeks he's gonna have word to his Dad. He knows how nasty his mother can get. I have a list ready. I have the ability to right people off, I do want to be careful not to do this completely for my other half's benefit. I WILL NOT be answering her phone calls. Nor will she be invited in without my other half being in the house. (thank you, guess i needed a little help to have a bit of strength to do this).

My other half has been pretty good at laying down laws, but the harrassment is only when he is away. Maybe not really harrassment, but certainly feels so. I will be reminding my other half of the legalities of stalking i think. Again thank you

Try sinning on a Sunday night, going to work very early Monday, that's definatly Armageddon repeatedly

Becka - really look into what you are heading for. It may not be your bf or partner causing problems, but his family can be horrible.

Make sure this is what you want, and give it time to learn lots about each other

Just lately my soon to be mother in-law is giving my other half an incredibly hard time. She is crying all the time about us, trying to get his siblings to spy on us. Ringing when she knows both of us when we are home together. He works away alot. Going BACK to meetings (hasn't gone regularly in years, so bloody hypocritical uugghh). This has only started happening in the last couple of weeks.

Would it be a good idea for me to go to study with her? (I will never believe, have strong convictions of my own). She is so cruel to him and his siblings. His dad is supportive in a quiet way, stands up to her.

We have never had it this bad before.

I would rather have a man because some of the women are just jerks - especially if they have had a baby...They don't mind at all being rough and aren't as sympathetic listening to issues - especially if they've never had any medical issues.

I have to agree here. I have had a series of late miscarriages and when i have had a woman, especially those that have had no trouble having children, I have had very little sympathy or help. Where as the men seem to want to help even if they don' t understand. I live in the back of beyond so we don't get the same Doc all the time. Kinda sucks. I've gone to the Big Bad City (days drive) to visit specialist, still can't get the same one.

The nastiest thing I ever did see, was my ex-husband and an internal swab of a man's pride and joy. (This was part of the medical to become a resident of New Zealand). Hang on maybe i did have some satisfaction in this after all a girl goes through (thinking.... yeap defintly, did sorry guys).

Never had a female present when having internals, doesn't faze me, anyone who isn't my other half, visiting down thereabouts makes me uncomfortable.

Hi Becka

Everyone, here has put it right RUN, unless you believe this man is the one. I am the non-believer of our pair, but have been with my man for a while now. (can't stand the thought of being without my best friend)

I have lurked on this forum for sometime using the information and experience here to learn why my man reacts the way he does. (he doesn't have a place like to deal with me though ) Probably the biggest thing is a willingness to talk and negotiate.

Jgnat has started some great threads on being the non-believing partner and i have come up with many ways to negotiate with my wonderful man. Everything from the blood issue to mother's day needs to be discussed. I have solved the blood issue on my part by having a living will that covers both any children we may be lucky enough to have and I. This has been agreed to and signed off by him.

Of Late Many Here Seem To Be Preaching Aethiesm..

when i first came here a while back there was plenty of discussion around and about jw topics and general chit chat but of late i've felt quite a sharp increase in posts that are: .

1/ preaching aethism (as opposed to putting it forward in a respectful way as an alternate viewpoint.

2/ vitriolic attacks on those who dare have another view ('damn those stupid heretical believers') .

I come here to learn, enjoy the banter. Lurking around to learn something about what my JW other half is going through. Me being a complete heathen in everyway. (Worshipper of horses, alcohol and mates).

Q, I am sorry you feel attacked. I personally need people on the other side of the wall to show me how it is, do keep posting. The banter gives me an insight into a life i find confusing. (can't unnerstan why anyone would want to be obsessed with anything other than the mighty horse and)

This person of low intellgience, who can't even spell, is learning alot from both sides, even if sometimes it does feel alittle one-sided occasionally.

all must worship that is devine, the cure for all evils (or the cause can't remember, haven't had any yet today)
