Well, since I am going through this process as we speak - can you elaborate on the (a) part of your advice? (Not telling anyone even my spouse)
I have already told her I have been having doubts and we have had a couple of big arguments because she feels I am trying to steal her faith. Basically, I have learned to not voice my doubts or opinions about anything because to her it loots like "nitpicking" and that I am being negative.
Am I doomed to suffer this plight alone?!?!?

Well for one, the pictures they showed of the water with "good" and "bad" words pasted on its sides is an old hoax. You can look it up. The guy who did that "experiment" refrained to tell anyone that the 'before' pictures were of liquid water and the 'after' pictures were of frozen water. THis is obvious when you realize you cannot get those beautiful patterns unless it is a crystal. I'm sorry, but that documentary has little credibility. Basically, it is a flashy re-packaging of self-affirmation and how it can change your life. They also suffer with the false-humility of which we are well aware of, being in (at one time) the Organization. They spend much time reviewing their (prior) scholastic achievements in order to make what they are about to tell you more credible.
I can see why you apreciate it for what its worth, and that's fine, I respect that - but I do not respect ignorance and especially not a love of ignorance. -

Public Meeting Talks.
by Blueblades inthe list of talk titles listed by subject have very few public talks on the kingdom.
i have 116 talks in my possession and under kingdom / paradise only 4 talks out of 21 mention the kingdom in this section.
how can they say that they are publicy announcing jehovah's kingdom when their public talks don't give it priority?.

Sorry about the double post - this forum is a little archaic in the editing sense... anyway I was just going to say that I don't think 6.5 million JWS would enjoy hearing the same theme 50 weeks out of the year. THey gotta mix it up a bit with subjects like "God's View of Sex and Marraige" and "How to Make Theocratic Origami."

"I think the worst thing about all this is, that while i'm still VERY active in the congregation. I feel that i'm treated like i'm already disfellowshipped."
I went through the same thing when I started going. Even though I as an MS, they had a local needs on it and everything. If your'e taking a course of action different than th rest of the group, you're ostracized. What would happen if you got a full time job, bought a new car, and just played video games all day? No one would care - because that's what a lot of young kids do, the same children of the elders in the hall. But if you go to college, they will ostracize you because dumb people are suspicious of what they do not know about. -

"The bible does say that Jehovah made that Covenant with the Nation of Isreal, that is pretty clear. For the rest of the people, as you mentioned could benefit from that same covenant by obeying its guidelines.
D."
Yes, the guidelines of the covenant set out by God, not guidelines added on to the covenant by Moses. -

"they seem to be the only religion that tries to make sense out of all that"
This is a distinct feature of the WT Society. They pride themselves in explaining the ENTIRE Bible. The only thing they admit they don't know is what the Bible does not "elaborate" on. -

Are Liberal Arts Degree worth it?
by truthseeker inan excellent article, which also refutes the idea that people only go to college to get rich and make money.. http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/departments/elearning/?article=liberalartsare liberal arts degrees worth anything?by jim pollock.
for everyone who says that a liberal arts degree doesn't prepare you for anything, you'll find someone else who claims that it prepares you for everything.
well, both, to some extent.the one thing that's pretty much certain is that right out of the gate, a liberal arts grad will tend to pull a smaller starting salary than his or her friends who majored in business or a technical field.

Undergrad liberal arts degrees are great for people who want to teach and get a graduate degree in sociology, english, history, etc....
It may not be the major that forces you to carve out your niche early on on your career, but it does serve its purpose. -

This book study was agonizing for me as well.
First of all, I could not see how Britian was one of those four horns of the ram. They skipped a little thing called ROME that ruled for over a thousand years.
Second, Prince of princes is Jehovah???? If Jehovah is all-powerful why would the Bible language use the term PRINCE instead of KING? Wouldn't that be like the old argument of Jesus being subordinate and saying "my Father"?
Third, The part when they try to prove the 2300 days apply to a time they published some article was the height of arrogance.
I can't believe all those other people at the book study just accept this SHIT.
