Lets see...
Friday: went out with some work colleagues, and ended up in a club, the first one I've been to for about 25 years. I did get a little drunk, and staggered into bed at around 3am.
Saturday afternoon (did Saturday morning happen? I missed it): Went around to dedpoet's, then went out with him at night, didn't (couldn't) drink much though.
Sunday: did some jobs at my home, and started packing away my jw literature with dp's help, then went out for some food, and ended up at dp's flat posting on here.
All in all, had a great weekend - isn't freedom wonderful?
Love, Linda

Financial reasons for being a Dub
by pratt1 in.
how many of you stayed in the "lie" longer than you believed it was true because you needed financial support from someone in the borg.. i know i stayed longer than i wanted to so that i could become financially independant from my parents and therefore i could do as i pleased without the financial ramifications.

I know a lot of kids at my cong stayed in till they had a job and could support themselves, then left home and the org. Some of them wisely avoided baptism, but the ones who got dipped are now estranged from their families. They got called a few names when they went, ungrateful being about the nicest thing anyone said.

What Pushed You Out The Door Of The Watchtower?
by minimus infor me, it was realizing that nearly every prophecy or commentary on a scriptural passage has changed.
througout the years, it's been new light, old light and even blinking light.

......I'm glad you're free of the WTBTS. That's wonderful
Thanks Nate, I'm glad about that too, and I sure won't be in a hurry to join any other religion, the years I've spent in this one kind of puts me off doing that. I have control of my life now, and it feels wonderful!

Amount of Magazines Wasted
by Nosferatu ini wanted to figure out approximately how many magazines are thrown into the trash (for one year).
i got some almost useless statistics from jw-media.org to work with.
the statistics are for the year 2004. watchtower printing = (approx) 26.4 million.

JW Lifestyle
by ScaryHairy ini dont think i will ever understand it, i mean why would someone want to be so much of a hypocrit(doesnt apply to everyone) ?.
it seems to me that most jw's are into themselves and stupid relationships.
if someone is talking its about one of those two things.

In my former kh, there were quite a few with money, and they tended to be very materialistic, yet better thought of by the elders than the less well - off. They seemed to have new cars every year, new clothes for every occasion, and yet dared to go on the platform and call worldly people for being the same! Such hypocrites.

Can someone help me decide what to do?
by Kaylen incan someone give me some feedback on what they would do in this situation:.
last weekend my best friends husband told me that three years ago he caught (and spied on for about half an hour) my husband and my very best friend "getting hot and heavy" (his words) in our spa and that he watched them because "he found it hot".
the three of them decided that they would not tell me and kept it a secret for the last three years until he told me (because he was drunk at the time).

Oh kaylen how awful for you. I agree with soledad on this, I think if it were me I would just have to confront her for my own peace of mind. Being told to get over it is no help at all.
I hope things work out well for you.
love, Linda

.....Never again will I step into a kingdom hall.
No, neither will I. That's one mistake I won't repeat.

I am not sure, but I would guess "npg" might mean non practicing gay, as she said she became gay in her post, can't be certain though, not being gay myself.
