  and here we go... my "father", an abusive bastard of a jw, recently sent me an email that put me in a tizzy!

  it was late friday night, i had just gotten home from a shift at a local bar where i bartend on occasion!

  abuse creates habits in the abused that are self-destructive and hard to break. I was an appeaser and a peace keeper -- still am to some extent -- in order to try to guess what everyone else wanted so I would not be beaten or verbally abused.

  oh man, im sorry you feel that way... i read your post about not feeling worthy... well i hope you are not struggling through that anymore... one thing i learned once i moved out was that the best way to get back at this A hole was to do the absolute best.... im young, but i definitely refuse to be a failure in life... and i hope to well anything, that you dont still consider yourself one... the only way that can be true is if you let it... so please, dont allow yourself to be a failure... and feel free to PM me, at least someone who kinda knows the situation is here to listen....

  i've heard many great things about this book for people who have left the jw religion and were having a hard time, like myself.

  How the Religious View Homosexuality

  for people who are still religious, what are your views on gays?.

  for me (an atheist) it goes against my own morality to think of them as sinners or somehow doing wrong, and yet in the bible it teaches that it is wrong.

  it's one of the main reasons i could never go along with the jws.. i'm curious how religious people address this issue.

  no im not mad at them because i was inactive, i was angry at them because of their close mindedness..... i had my ass kicked that time, not for being gay, but because a mod of something like 12 men decided that i was fraternizing with a gay, which is a sin as bad as killing or being a pedophile... thats why im mad.. not at your religious beliefs, but the inability of the church to tell its members that revenge is gods... why tell them something is evil and then let them go... if they are going to believe everything they are told, they better also be told not to attack!

  anyone else sick of stroking certain apologists egos?

  i am quite sure most of you have noticed some anti-atheist threads... some may have noticed the backlash of pro-atheist threads... it's kinda funny to me, seems these threads are being posted by the same people, even though they are not... the problem lies here, these topics reach discussion board infamy by being 15 or more pages long... why?

  because there are one or two apologists, who instead of discussing it like the mature adults they are not, they ridicule and mock... they make their beliefs into fact and make fun of manyone who points out the fact that what they say is not substancial evidence but is only belief... you may even know who in particular i am talking about, but that does not matter... at this point, i am sick of allowing these men to mentally masturbate all over this discussion board.... maybe its time to ignore them since they are only trying to evoke reactions from us????.

  im not worked up over what it says, my dear friend, i am worked up over what people who read it believe and even act upon... i have witnessed gay bashing because someone thought being gay is immoral!!! i have witnessed one of my closest friends beaten close to death, alongside myself because he was gay and i didnt care... thats why i get so worked up over it... because some idiots, and i am not calling you one, but some idiots take the words written down many many years ago, by MEN, to be law and then decide to enforce it themselves... thats why

  i tired so hard to stay away... but this kind of bunk makes me soooo angry perry... lets start at the top, NO ONE, religious or not, atheist or not, can say they have never lied or "adultered" by your loose standards, or stolen... unfortunately, as you look down on us, you miss the rafter in your own eye again.. YOU ARE A JUDGEMENTAL PERSON... ask anyone following this thread... you have judged us all to be sinners who are worth nothing but eternal damnation... but wait, there may be hope for you since

  so these are not your personal critiques, you are able to tell us all what is fact... you know for a FACT that there is a god... you know for a FACT that we are sinning and you are not... you know for a FACT that vinny is an animal and doing right.... you know everything for a FACT so there is no need to prove any of it... thats amazing, because i will call the BS card on all of it... how do you know that something that leaves no proof exists for a fact? and how do you know that god views your coondescending manner, which is pushing many of us further away from god, as something less disgusting than well discussing what we have been led to believe...

  i hope you are kidding, ill tell you why... you did not make any arguments... you said i view gays as sinners and they are just as bad as pedophiles, etc...

  where is the argument, no it was a statement of your beliefs and i told you mine,... bigotry, and that is what you are emphasizing, is despicable to me.... why should i not tell you that i think your words disgust me? now if you had some real evidence as to why these men are sinners, well then that would be different... but ill tell yo uone thing, your book that was written so soooo long ago, does not count to me...

  I view what gays do as sin. Simple as that. I also view cohabitating unmarried heterosexuals as sinning the same as I would view a thief, a rapist, pedophile, or any other. Homosexuality does not have a high ranking on the sin-o-meter than other sins. They are all equal.

  i view your bigotry as the greatest sin of all!!! grow up and realize god doesnt care anymore... he sits there and watches children die in africa because of hunger and tells us that if we do not care for our children we are worse than satan.... your inactive god is not only a hypocrite, but a dirt bag P.O.S. and i still respect him more than i respect you and your bigot ways!!!!!
