as an unabashed star trek fan i find all the references to the witnesses as "the borg" on this site really charming.
when coming up with my name i just thought "what is anti-borg?

well................ive been in the jw religion my entire life, until last summer.
im 20 years old now, and miss my family and friends.
i left because i did alot of research about the jw religion, and i found nothing good and alot of truth.
hey im very sorry to hear that!!! poor girl doesnt realize that she is brainwashed, and the only people who can help her, well, she locks out cuz the (expletive deleted) borg doesnt allow her to listen... this kind of BULL makes me so angry... im fuming now... god, im sorry man, maybe one day she will start thinking for herself... for right now, just concentrate on bettering yourself

where does it take place??.
an assembly is when they put you in a room, that is usually either super hot or super cold... you are surrounded with as many people as they can fit in the room so that you are even more uncomfortable and they talk at you until you are almost asleep.... it is a wonderful way to really indoctrinate you....
when you are uncomfortable and tired, your mind is most maleable... this is where they do as much brainwashing as possible

i went out to see my sister and my mom... when i got back she said she was leaving... when i asked why, she said she was weirded out by my lack of trust.... i couldnt trust her,, so i hid things... its not her fault, its not like i was lying or anything, but i mean some shit, i just didnt tell her... i am so used to being called names, lectured and torn apart for being 100% honest, that now, i still am scared to let anyone completely in... now the best thing that ever happened to me is gone... she left and im not sure shes ever coming back... and iom not sure who to blame.. i mean its obviously my fault, but did the borg put a fear of trusting into my heart and soul?
i guess i cant blame anyone but myself... but at this point, im so torn and hurt that im not sure what to do... all i know is that what was finally having the semblance of family to me is now gone... the first time i was able to live with someone and love someone, albeiut with an ingrained sense of distrust, has disappeared, probably never to return..... .
this has broken me, i don't know what i will be doing with myself for the next couple of days... i feel almost dead inside... the infamous one.

again, your heartfelt (((((((hugs)))))))) and advice have really meant alot.. you guys have always been here to console me, and i appreciate it... in about an hour and fifteen minutes i will be seeing her and i think i am coming home to a big hug... but i have been wrong before and there are alot of things we both need to talk about... i am excited at the opportunity and am definitely willing to work at myself to make myself a better person, her happier and in the end, MYSELF HAPPY!! once all this is achieved, i think we will both be flying high... with her help, and her understanding, i will be ok!!!
and if shes not around, ill be fine... not happy, but ill survive... i always do!

so it's been a year now since mrs h and i went our seperate ways, and even though there are people on the boards that i've come to love very much i've started having a tic in one eye whenever i see a presentable lady in real life.
i guess that means that i maybe ready to start looking for some female companionship.. thing is, it''s been over 20 years since i last went on 'the pull', and i'm a bit rusty these days.
ill be honest and say that i have hit a few of them up!!! and to be even more honest, i met some really cool people who are now good friends of mine... did any of it turn into a relationship, not really... i had sex a few times... but i mean, nothing serious, which at the time was all i wanted, so ok

anyone else have the idea of making a high resolution scan of a lapel card so you can go to the assembly.
my mom got me one, (hehe) and i've scanned it in, now when i go i will have the one my mom gave me in front on my lapel holder on my jacket, with my real name on it so mom doesn't get suspicious.
then behind that one i will have my decoy one, with a fake name and other congregation name on it.
see im pretty sure they wont even look at it unless you actually start to make a fool of yourself.. if they come ask you about your flask, tell them its holding water... vodka has no smell on the breath, so when you see them coming, chug chug chug... byt the time it actually hits you, theyll be gone!!! i have a teenage daughter and she is very lazy.
we have to get on her constantly to get her room clean, when asked about her progress, her answer is always"i am working on it".
then when we check, it is usually worse than the day before.
teenagers were meant to be lazy... and rude... i mean teenager is synonimous with lazy!!!!
i hat eto tell you this, but you have to talk to her, like she is on your level, not like she is your child... tell her, dont resort to tricks and foolery, imagine how resentful you would feel if your boss asked you to do something at work, you had something else to do, and then you forget... then your boss just takes something of yours until you do it... i dont think that would make you feel like working more, it would upset you to the point of not doing it out of resentment....
she is growing up and tring to be independant... punishments will probably not work, like i said before, find out her reasoning behind it, talk to her like she is one of the adults and that is what she will appreciate... talk to her

i was able to totally rework my kitchen about 5 years ago.
with limited funds we found premade cabinets very cheap.
we made them fit.
you'd be amazed what you get by hiring a student... they will do amazing work, sometimes better than your accredited labourers... seek out some trades students with heavy hammers... anything can be fixed, it just takes will and patience...
i have bad kitchen syndrome, but i live in an apartment, why would i wanna fix that?

as a dub when people told me "you are not christians" i didn't believe it for a moment since jws accept that jesus is their saviour.
one day i suddenly realised that this belief is pointless since not participating in the new covenant made one in essence not a christian.
the jws are perhaps the only religion out there who believe that there are two classes of christians one of which is not part of the covenant.
i cannot say that i have thought about it much... i think the religious conscience has escaped me... but i guess i can work on that!!! lol, but now that you have mentioned it, yes i do think that it is strange that the dubs think there are two different classes of christians... weird indeed...
