i live in mi and was raised a jw.
i left officially in 05, but my thinking had evolved before then.. if you're at this board, you're probably asking questions, or have asked questions and realized that the answers are not what you had thought they were.. if you're looking at this profile, you probably read one of my posts.. i suppose there is only one thing i would want anyone to know:.
it won't replace the years you believe you lost to the organization.. live your life that you have now and enjoy it.. often this means making a new life.
in most cases i would agree with you black swan... you need to move on.. but also, you need to realize that this religion has caused so many issues with alot of us... mental anguish, emotional damage, and in some cases, even physical harm... some of us need to talk about our feelings... for some of us, this is our way of moving on... to talk about it... we like it, we need it...
so move on, define your future and don't look down on the people here... some are angry, some are hurt, some are finished (as you supposedly are) and some just need to vent.... give them their space, and their time... if you're done with it, well good for you, leave... and dont make other people feel like crap for wanting to vent... like i said, some need it... and there is no better place for them than this!!!
the infamous one(the one who is defining his own future, but still angry!)
bumped into an old friend of my mothers.
her daughter died in a car crash over 30 years ago.
the truth is all she can talk about and seeing her daughter again.
they do not get a chance to grieve properly... they are so brainwashed that they do end up believing that so soon they will be seeing these people again soon... how will they grieve? theyre forced to go back in the ministry and pretend nothing happened... not fair to these easily persuaded people!

i have a couple of favourites i'll share with you.. first is pure coconut oil for my hands.
at room temperature it is a solid, so i have to immerse the pump container in a mug of hot water for about 5 minutes before i use it.
it's wonderfully warm when i massage it into my hands, and leaves them silky soft!
mayonnaise for my hair
urine for my acne
sex for my restlessness
and lots of hugo boss for my odours

they way im seeing it is that jw seem to teach only honesty which i dont see as being a bad thing at all so why are some of you on here using **** this and **** that or im going to do some fornication now blah blah blah , i dont mean to be offensive at all but some of you say you are christian????
or is it that you have been repressed for to long ?
help me as i feel stuck in the middle , dont know what to do
superficially, the witnesses are a great people... a great organization even... like most other religions, they preach honesty, love and all good things... but once you really get into their organization, they lie, cheat, fornicate, cause problems, deride, berate, gossip and that's just the peopns at the bottom... up to the top levels its money and lies to the extreme...
they are not a great people... they have repressed us heavily and we want to make sure they know we know what they are up to... molesters are protected in that religion. child beaters receive promotions within the congregation. fornicators become presiding overseers... we know... and we will try our best to help others realize it too.

this is a fun question that i like to pose in social settings.
regardless of who your significant other is, i've found that people have a definite preference for hair color.
what i found even more interesting is that people usually preferred a hair color different than their own.
i like my women like i like my fruit salad... all flavours and all colours... WOOT
