I would disagree. I think, no, I BELIEVE that love is the most powerful force among humans. Now fear may be the most PREVALENT emotion/instinct/force among humans and animals, the most widely experienced but I believe that humans can and have overcome even their most powerful fear-filled thoughts when motivated by pure, sincere love, the most powerful force in the universe.

Hello To All

as you can tell, i am another newbie, so i thought i would introduce myself.

i have been quietly reading the posts for some time now and thought it time to join in.. i am a 53 year old grandpa (neither daughter or their husbands are jw) married to jw woman with three kids, ages 15, 16, 17. therein lies the source of my discourgement and subsequent disassociation from the jws.

i outlined my involvement with the jws in my profile, if any are interested.

I'm sorry you have to endure this type of treatment by your family. As you can see, the 'friends' were not realy friends at all. Especially when you needed them the most. No spirit of love, no spirit of comfort, in fact, no spirit of God at all.

I hope your marriage can endure. The best you can do is be there for your family.

Good show posting your message on your front door. When the 'friends' come by and shun you they are in effect practicing SPIRITUAL ABUSE. By letting them know you don't pratice spiritual abuse in your house you are taking away one if their most powerful control weapons. AND THEY HATE IT WHEN THEY CAN'T HURT YOU IN THE NAME OF JEHOVAH!!! Just shows you how sick many of then are. How 'seared' their consciencess are.

I can honestly relate to you how close aspects of the congregation are to what you think is right and believe but my experience has shown me it is all a veneer, a covering, a 'sheeps clothing' that hides a wolf!

For proof, just look at how they treat you. Look how they get your family to treat you. They unabashedly usurp your headship in favor of the societys'. They push you out by breaking up your family and move in and take over.

I'm starting to rant. I'm sure all this has crossed your mind. My only suggestion is to FIGHT for your family. Defending your family against these invaders is one of the best expressions of love that I know of. Take care

no blood cards this year!

last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.

in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

The Borg masters are just covering their collective arse. They KNOW when the BIG negative publicity hammer hits them, people, JW's and XJW's alike, will run to the cameras and say: "See, they MADE us sign these forms! (blood cards). They'ed PUNISH us if we did'ent! We did'ent know what to do! We were scared, we did not want to lose our family and friends! They said god would KILL us if we did not sign them! and on and on and on.

So borg central wants to sweep the 'card thing' under the table as soon as they can, to avoid even more liability.

It just goes to show that the so-called FDS is playing games with peoples lives and that they are neither 'faithful'- they have no faith, nor 'descrete'- they can only show human wisdom.

Now I'm a person of faith, a Christian for over 20 years now. I would dare to say I'm sensitive to matters of conscience between me and God.

However, one does not have to be a believer in God to see that the FDS of the WTS were Not trusting in God with ANY degree of strong faith when they associated with the evil UN. And they were not even facing DEATH like the three Hebrews were!

I think most of us on this board believe the 'library card' excuse is a red herring and the more logical reason is that the WTS wanted to gain a greater degree of acceptance in the global community.

Remember, if the WTS is Gods' organization, then it will be by Jehovahs power that they will survive, not by playing the same game the world plays to survive.

Question: Do you honestly think Jehovah God Himself WANTED the WTS to actively associate with Satans organization, the United Nations?

IF you can, please limit your overall conclusion to YES, NO, or I don't know. Thanks.

mine is fillet....but cooked 'fillet mignon', or a juicy t-bone topped with mushroom sauce.

some forum members have made much of the letter from the portuguese branch of the jehovahs witnesses, explaining why the watchtower affiliated with the united nations department of public information; they believe it contradicts a similar letter from britain.

in this post i rebut that argument.

I think what Hartley and Shimmer has said brings the orgs misleading letters right back to the important part, namely, HYPOCRISY!!!

The Borg Masters have take it upon themselves to put a 'hand' or a 'foot' in Satans' bed by WILLINGLY associating with THEIR wild beast, the United Nations. They then tell everyone that their actions were BENEVOLENT, or following their line of thinking, God inspired/directed. All this KNOWING they would DF any R&F who decided to do the same.

HYPOCRISY is the real issue here! Their LYING CONTEMPT for TRUTH and the FAITH of the R&F is evedent for all the world to see.

But I think the Borg Masters are hoping the world will not care to see. Still, like the old saying goes; Give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself.

how to sue the WTBS?

i was just wondering i was in the organization 38 years and i feel cheated out of all those years i was in.

or how about when your disfellowshiped and your family alientates you from their lives.

IMHO, the orgs 'Achilles Heal' is how much they run the religion like a business enterprise and NOT a humanitarian organization. They put profits, (new recruits, more kingdumb halls) over the wellfare of the R&F.

A class action suit can focus on one GLAREING problem, like emotional abuse suffered at the hands of jack-booted, ignorant, insensitive, mean-spirited, 'glorious ones' called elders!

Just a thought.

What're the new spins going to be?

i was talking with my wife and surmised that in ten years, there would be 'revision' in thought about blood, and that they would allow transfusions, (a conscience matter), but still forbid the eating of blood.. as to disfellowshipping, when it all hits the fan in the media, there may be a change, some time in the future regarding it.

perhaps they will say to only 'spiritually' disfellowship the person, but not encourage the total shunning of them.. do those two hold any merit?

what other things may change at the wtbts?

I kinda have a different idea about the borg's future spins. The one thing that keeps the wool over the R&F's eyes is not their manipulative use of the Bible, but it is their CREDIBILITY.

Because we are intering a new world of instant communication, lying coverups, (something the borg are talentted in ), can be broadcast within the hour. Those who want to expose deception within the borg 'cube' will have little trouble getting the media to 'run' with it.

I say this because the more people are interconnected the more "shared thoughts" the group will experience. This will force the borg "kings" to use their meetings and said media to counter embarrassing or damageing info.

The more they have to play 'cover up', the more they will lose face with the R&F, and also with potential 'drones'.

Mind you now, the borg masters WANT their religion to be mediocure and obscure, it's the best way to keep maximum control over a group so they can slowly rape the life out of said group. Like leeches. They don't need the 'world' knowing their dirty little secrets. But these mummies can't hold back time, technology, or the TRUTH.

The plants that JW's love to hate

most people who have any sustained contact with jehovahs witnesses soon discover that this organization is rather tough on certain types of plants.

it is easy to see that small forests have been sacrificed over the decades to make the multiple millions of publications for the evangelical work or that many plants that are commonly used for personal drug use are condemned, but most people dont know about a few lonely plants growing somewhere in california that really irk the witnesses.

these plants have a very interesting story to tell.

Thankyou for your observations. However, because I'm skeptical about most things, including religion and the sciences, I still find my questions that I directed toward Mindchild to be relevent.

As concerning Mindchild's quotes that you highlighted these "possibilities" ring in my mind:

Who is to say that the creosote bush HAD to be in a circular ring IF it survived on a flotilla like journey across open water? Wind, rain, and birds could have broken the bush up. Mabey only a few single plants survived. Mabey it was broken up if and when it washed ashore.

As to the plants age, again, could varying climatic changes have affected it's growth rate?

Believe me, I'm not trying to be difficult. I would honestly like to 'know for sure' if overall, unbiased sience supports or does not support a global flood scenerio. I seems to me that many who make claims about scientific proof have an "agenda". This goes for the Darwin/evolution crowd and is just as true for the creationist group also. You know, 'There IS a god!, There is NO god!'. This seems to drive a lot of peoples emotions. I think there are only a few honest people who are truley devoted to pure scientific truth, for truths sake.

Whoops! I'm starting to ramble. Sorry. Thanks again for your post.
