  Physical appearance IN the troof vs. out

  i just had a question.....a rant is intertwined as well (sorry) .

  when i was in the jw's, i noticed so many "new one'z" and "interested one'z" who were nicely dressed people.

  many were fairly well-groomed, the women & girls with nice stylish fashion taste.

  Sorry to hear about your little sister RM, the more positive influences she has, the better it will be for her.

  I've mostly seen "battles" between young people and their parents out in service about what they are wearing. Mind you, the biggest problems were between girls and the flower dress/ skirt cut too low senerio. I think after time young people just give up to the society's view of "proper dress" and this causes depression because they are not allowed to fit in with the majority of their peers.

  Remember, the cult of the jehovah's witnesses are only concerned with two things about you,

  FIELD SERVICE

  AND

  MEETING ATTENDANCE

  Literally ALL OTHER THINGS come secondary to these. Out thoughts, our feelings, our emotions, our dreams, EVERYTHING, is made to support these two things. This is by design from the cult of the jehovah's witnesses.

  Just giv'em the magazine and leave, in a hurry, no discussion what-so-ever!

  That was pretty much MY field service activity toward the end.

  I did'nt even want to open the rag and look at it myself, I was so disgusted with the content.

  Do Atheist have Near Death Experiences?

  in a thread awhile back it was mentioned that there is no atheist.. after they have a "near death experience".. .

  this was news to be.it was made to sound as though..... if an atheist had this experience....he was not an atheist after the experience.

  i mentioned this to my wife.....a dub.

  Umm...... Wether what a person consciously believes and his ability to have a NDE is to me, simply not answerable.

  I know this, however,.........

  .......................you won't find an atheist on a raft in the middle of the ocean.

  DON'T be suprised if they have a hostile takeover by insiders and do the BIG 180 degree turnaround.

  It's happened before, remember The Church of Christ? Now fully mainstream with the bigboys.

  That's how they will avoid being "eaten up" by the lawsuit sharks.

  Remember, no matter how unlikely, it's happened before.

  You are soo right! What a slap in the face to anyone with half a brain. In watchtower speak the term "disscussion" really means "conditioning".

  Yet another example that the cult of the jehovahs witnesses has absolutely NO religious values whatsoever.

  Hello All,

  Commenting on Amazings' comments about the org using transitional reasoning;

  ... I like the transition they finally made from "studying the Bible with the AID of the Watchtower" to "studying the Watchtower" ...

  I remember when I first took up this issue with the elders. I had read in the "Insight " book where it talked about the star that followed the three wise men, ( magi, astrologers, servents of SATAN, MUWAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ), MIGHT be Satans' star, controlled by him to kill the young Jesus.

  THEEEN, at book study, I read in the "Greatest Man" book where it FLAT OUT said that it WAS Satans' star. I said "What's this all about?" So I went to the elders ( BIG mistake ) with a complaint.

  Well, lets just say, from then on the mountain of cow patties I stood on began to crumble.

  Hello Valis,

  Luke 9: 49,50 New Living Translation,

  49 John said to Jesus, "Master, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons. We tried to stop him because he isnt in our group."

  50 But Jesus said, "Dont stop him! Anyone who is not against you is for you."

  It Seems to me that Jesus was showing his desciples a lesson in pragmatism. If the man casting out demons in Jesus' name was not hurting them, was not robbing them, persecuting them, slandering them, or adversely treating them in any way, then they should just leave him alone like the man wanted. The deciples are fostering peace for themselves by not hassling somone who's not bothering them.

  The overall atmosphere of peace and wellmeaningness on this board and between the posters can benifit from this common sense approach.

  We know watchtower has many enemies because they hate EVERYONE and they create a spirit of antagonism even within their own ranks, ( gossipping, spying on each other, reporting doubts to elders and such ).

  A practical approach to how we view each other on this board can be to treat each other as if we were neighbors living on the same block. Good neighbors look out for oneanothers interest. They treat fellow neighbors like how they want to be treated, with fairness and respect. If they dissagree, they have a barbacue and settle matters out, ( you know what I mean ).

  It can be done. You just have to think of other posters as human beings with feelings also, because everyone has them. We then can view each other with a greater sense of humanity.

  OK, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

  many of you already know my real name.i'm the one whose experience was published in the sep 8 1994 awake mag.

  i would like to stress that although i have good reason to be angry and bitter, nothing i say here is said in anger but only in sadness.

  i write this to say that if i could take back many of my words i said in that experience , i would.

  WOW Elon,

  I DO remember your story in the awake magazine! I don't know why I remember it. I guess your story left somthing of an imprint on me, probably because I also served in the armed forces but stopped because of the witnesses.

  How weird it must be for you to be on the wacky witness side at one time and to be "out" of their sphere of influence the next.

  Try not to feel too bad about any given support to the cult of the jehovah's witnesses, most of the people on this board have given time, money, and their life to them to some degree.

  JERECRUZ, ADAMS, FREDDIE FRANZ and the rest of them I liken to vampires, sucking the lifes blood of their victimes to continue their cragady lives. Only the light of TRUTH can destroy these rat bastards and send them straight to HELL where they belong. Sorry..., ranting. OK, I'm better know.

  Your testimony about their true nature is such a light. Keep on shining Elon!

  Newbie alert!

  i'm new here, and would just like to thank simon and people like him (franz for one) who have helped others, through various forms of media, to make thier own educated descisions on how to deal with all the jw issues in their lives.

  when i was growing up in a jw family, we never had the opportunity to get "second opinions" on any doubts we had from any source.. luckly, with resources such as this website, and others like it, i have been able to make one of the most important discisions in my life, and that is how to bring up my kids spiritually and mentally?

  i had to be 100% sure, in my mind, that i was doing the right thing.. i hope others who we all know that are searching for thier "answers" will be as fortunate as many of us here.

  i am writing this more for myself than anything..it just hurt so deeply... my hubby has been an elder for 20+ years..my status is baptized,,no.

  meetings, association ect for over one year now... we were watching the news,,and pres.

  bush was talking about the u.n.. with genuine concern and in all honesty i stated that i did not know how.

  Sorry about your problems Ugg,

  I'm kinda opposite you. My wife was born into the "troof" and I've been inactive for over a year now. She's feeling sad cause I won't go to meetings and stuff, but I can't go back to a world of ignorance no more. Even if I wanted to.

  If you stay strong, he'll come around, in time.
