  JWs CAN CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS!

  when a jw tells you christmas is pagan, therefore you shouldnt celebrate it, you can refer them to this article.

  it is discussing wallpaper and other home decorations and what sorts are acceptable.. *** g76 12/22 14 are they idolatrous decorations?

  so the christian needs to be primarily concerned about what?

  Hey now its Dec 1st the whole things really gonna get swinging,but for me ,I will be working harder,I work for royal Mail,and already its a lot busier,I think there is a mail worker who frequents this board over in the States too,anyway I used to hate Christmas as a JW,now I love it,I hope you all have a nice one.

  charitable status is the obvious point of weakness re the wts.

  it in no way deserves it.

  i am interested in forming a discussion group or similar regarding it...away from public view.

  I agree so much,to remove charitable status would not be persecution,they could not claim that religious freedom has been stamped on so they would not be able to jump on the martydom bandwagon,its amazing that each time finance is threatened how quickly the WT conveniently get ,'New Light,'and the removal of charitable status would be a good carrot for the WT to brush up its act on member manipulation and human rights abuse within the group and toward those who choose to leave,I think it would be a good idea if as many as possible of us wrote to the charity commision and our political representatives and brought their attention to these facts as you say,I really think their is potential in this

  Merry Christmas substitute

  when i was a witness we would tell the public that although we didnt keep xmas or birthdays etc,we made up for it the rest of the year and even have special occasions for giving at other times.. well,the reality,for me as a kid,and my other brothers and sister was that we didnt cellebrate cristmas and didnt celebrate anything else so we went without,there were practically no times for giving or recieving .

  her children are now being raised as jws against her will.

  Good luck in your quest,may I suggest reading a chapter of Ray Franzes book 'In Search of Christian Freedoom,' after each witness session,this will give you an excellent grounding on their manipulation teqniques and flawed ideology.

  dear brothers,.

  you might want to consider this letter in the 'questions from readers' section of the watchtower.. my question is this: i would like to join the catholic church and at the same time keep my standing and position in the congregation!

  the reason being is that i have heard that the vatican has a very good and complete library which i would like to avail myself of.

  WT Becoming More Secular?

  i was raised in the "truth" and my mom is still very dedicated to being a witness.

  i've noticed that over time, the society seems to have gotten more secular, or at least it appears so.. for example, the blood issue is now more secular, you can't be disfellowshipped.. also, being able to accept military civil service instead of going to jail.

  i also read that a witness can now attend holiday celebrations with their unbelieving mate.. has anyone noticed this as well?

  Like Ozziepost said the automatically viewed as dissasociated is even harsher than the previos way,and it is so the WT can protect their ass from lawsuites and make misleading the media with public statements like,'We dont penalize anyone for excercising their own free will in blood use or joining the military.

  Hi there Missie Effe,
  I take it you are in the Falmouth congregation,I used to attend the St.Austell East cong but I went to Falmouth cong in Penryn on many occasions as my sister Julia James lives down there with her hubby Robert James,I keep saying this but sometimes it sure is a small world,funny thing I know a chap here in St.Austell who is now going out with a girl in a family I have known for years(not witnesses)who also went to Falmouth congegation.
  But this marking thing was always so mis used,its another tool to remind people to keep in line and some witnesses use it just because they dont like you much anyway,so unlike the illustration of the progidal son.
