  WELL WORTH READING: JW's + 144,000

  found this material on an yahoo egroups site on greek theology on which quite a number of witness apologists contribute.

  there is quite a bit of interesting stuff on here, but here is a worthwhile comment made on the 144,000 as they relate to the "fds class" and jw's since 1879. establishes from purely mathematical point of view that the 144,000 cannot be a literal but figurative.

  Ridiculous trips to the 'back room'

  the posts in the elders meeting thread got me thinking about this, so i've spun it off for into another thread.. were you ever 'counseled' because "some" in the congregation were disturbed by things you said/did/listened to/watched?.

  here is just some of the stupid stuff that the elders brought me in on.

  though they were usually handled through shepherding calls, not in the back room at the kh.. 1: because i decided to change my first and middle names.

  Not ever being a JW but knowing about their practices, I always found it fascinating how "God" was using these "elders" (what is an elder in definition by the way) to pass out judgements. My fiance at the time got marked while my friends sister-in-law committed adultery and only got publicly reproved. What gives?

  B.S. in Accounting, now CPA. It's amazing what keywords you learn in auditing (i.e. appears to be) and how the Corporation, I mean, Organization uses them also to CYA themselves (cover your you know what)

  well, i went back to the area of my old congregation yesterday.

  my daughter's best friend amanda was getting married, and despite my trepidation, amanda had begged me to show up and to dance a dance with her.

  my trepidation was twofold; first, my ex-wife was going to be there, and after our messy divorce only six months ago, i had no desire to be anywhere where she was.

  American Witnesses face difficult time over flag

  reports are coming from the united states that small flags and flag badges are being distributed at schools and other public places.. many are refusing to take a flag and this is causing resentment and hurt feelings.

  not wishing to offend, witnesses are asking their elders what they should do.. cheers,.

  Planes just a diversion... Ambulances had bombs.

  i feel pretty sure about this, that the planes were just a diversion set to allow emergency vehicles easy access to the basement parking lot.

  eye witnesses placed a large explosion just before the south building came down.

  one thing is sure, the buildings did not come down as a result of the planes hitting them or any explosions due to that.

  Experiences: How you know it ain't the 'truth'

  when i was a teenager, there was a young lady early 20's who had moved into our cong.

  she had a newborn son and had just married her worldly boyfriend, the father of the baby.

  My reasoning for knowing that the Corporation (or to others the Organization) isn't spreading the truth is during my engagement and marriage to a JW, (I'm not one, but most of my family and hers are one) both of our families were pressured not to attend the wedding. What kind of BS is that. Not once was I asked any questions by her Elders, my Mom's elders, or her Parents elders. To them I was the anti-christ. My mother had to go through 3 little elf meetings (One I walked into at my mothers house and boy did they scurry like little elves.) None of my sisters could be in the wedding party, and I couldn't even have my best friend, my brother be my Best Man. And for what? They marked my wife (fiance then), made visiting her and my family difficult, and basically just turned me off to their ideology. Who do these people think they are? Elders?, that's a laugh. You have to be wise and mature to be one. Once I had an elder spying on my house to see if my then fiance would come over without a chaperone. What right do they have to spy? I snuck up on him and told him and asked him this same question. He didn't answer so I told him to get leave (it's a private street). I saw him again a week later and it's amazing what a pellet shot from an air rifle does to a radiator. Never saw him again.

  I hope someday to show my wife the wrongs that have been done to her and her family by her "organization". I won't try to force her out knowing what would happen to her emotionally if I did. Hope I didn't bore anyone with my story.

  PS. The little elves took my nephew's "privleges" away since he went to the wedding. He's only 14.
