  I didn't realize people here submitted to the authority of the WTS. What's the point of polling by their standards? It's like being at the KH, getting judged.

  i just wanted to give a quick update to anyone who might have read my earlier posts on this subject.. tonight my wife, who is very active in the hall, has a talk in the back school.

  i haven't been to a meeting in about three months, and i really don't want to be there, but i want to support my wife.

  but of course, the people who supposedly have so much love are making it a difficult decision for me.

  Take separate cars to the meeting. Walk into the meeting late. Be there for your wife. Leave immediately after the TMS, leaving your books for your wife to carry, so they think you're just going to the restroom. Maybe this will keep you from getting cornered.

  What are JW's leaders going to do when we hit the year 2014 and no Armaggdn

  we are fast approaching the year 2014 which will be 100 years since 1914. what are jw's and the wt going to do if armaggeddon has not occurred by then?

  will they come up with a bunch of "new light" to do away with 1914 all together?

  will they suddenly announce that jesus came into kingdom power in the year 2014?

  I think there will be more emphasis on the 120 years that Noah had to build the ark and 'preach'. That gives them until 2034.

  Did anything violent happen at the KH or Bookstudy when you were a JW?

  i will never forget when i was a jw and was attending the bookstudy on a mon night a man broke into the bookstudy which was in the elder's garage and pulled out a gun.

  he shot the father of the jw teenage girl he was secretly dating.

  apparently the girl's father had forbidden her to date this non-jw man in his 40's.

  i am truly looking for your honesty on this issue...not that i think any of you have been dishonest - i just don't want the sugar coated version of pollyanna lines.. i have spoken about this subject privately with one of you - ;) - and also with my hubby.

  however, i'm wondering if i'm in the minority here when i bring this subject up.

  Hi bj rio,

  I think your comments are very astute. People who have no power or status in the world, can aspire to a position of within the org. That could be quite an incentive for some.
