  noone is bad enough, i'll warrant (see thread below), but the offense against not only oxford, but against webster, that eclipses them all is the use of your when you mean you're.

  this one is enough to drive both the devil and daniel webster straight up the wall; and it's everywhere you look.

  how did some of you gentle folk ever get out of eighth grade?.

  one key moment i remember as being a witness was this time i met this family that was visiting from california.

  they were friends of some people we knew in the hall, and thus we spent a good amount of time with them the week they were here.

  they had two polite daughters and the mom was one of those people who could sit and talk to for hours and hours.

  Pretty interesting, I like the choice it made for me. My step-grandmother was a reformed jew, her beliefs drove my mom crazy. This is what my wife wants us to look into also.

  continued from my post about hubby having cancer.

  we talked to the dr that is going to install his porta vein for the chemo he is going to get.he mentioned special papers he will have to sign because of the "no blood".

  You can be there and you don't have to believe it. You already know how they are and how they act, it will be the same whether you are there or not. Just put their bull out of your mind, let it flow through you like a cool summer breeze through a screen door. You are there for one reason and one reason only, your husband.

  Once they aren't able to affect you then they have lost their power over you. They are hurting your relationship right now with their actions, are you going to let them have this power over you? You are the one in charge here, you can choose to not be affected, it starts when you say to yourself, "I don't care what they say" and it ends when you actually believe it. Disassociated or not, The Jehovah's Witnesses still have your soul, get it back!

  My fear is that if we tell this girl the TRUTH it will cause her to put up a wall. Remember she thinks she's dirt, so anyone telling her she's an ok person is going to be an "agent of satan". "oh its ok to do bad and rebel against god"

  My dearest hope is that some of you can get through to this girl and really help her. I fear the damage that will take place when she gets "help" from her "frends" in the congregation.

  I just don't think I can help, but I truly ask others on this board to try and reach out to her. I don't know, for some reason her story really affects me.

  Do JW's teach anything about their history?

  everyone here seems to know a lot about jw history, but when i ask my friend (who was a convert) they don't seem to know too much.

  do they teach a church history class on sundays or during the week?

  (just curious...seems funny that my friend would convert from catholicism without knowing too much of the history)
