I bought a packet of mixed nuts, and the ingredient label said "warning, this product may contain traces of nuts"........ WTF

Would you ski if you were pregnant.
by Es inhey all, we are heading off to the snow for the weekend, i havnt been in three years and are eagerly looking forward to it all, esp my kids having heaps of fun.. anyway i have pretty much decided not to ski as i have just found out im pregnant, im a pretty confident skiier i guess its the other people you have to worry about.
when i tried to look at information whether or not it was a good idea it seemed 50\50.. just wondering what would you do or if you have skiied whilst pregnant?.

Es, I skied with all my pregnancies. my kids were born in may, march and feb so i was only early on during our ski season with each of them. My main problem was morning sickness not tummy bump!, but exercise seemed to help my morning sickness. I probably wouldn't ski when my belly got in the way of my field of vision, or affected my balance though!!
We also skied with each of the kids in a backpack in remote, uncrowded areas. You can't do that now cause they won't let the backpacks on the chairlifts, but we loved it an had some great family skis with grandparents, cousins and kids/babies.....
They don't call me Deeskis for nothing!

Holiday to Tasmania and my incredible book find
by jwfacts ini have just spent the last few days in tasmania, where i was born and raised until the age of 20. my grandmother is a jw in her 80's but let me stay at her house because "no one is going to tell her she can not speak to her own family".
i visited relatives and friends, and found that almost everyone that i grew up with are no longer jws.
it was quite eye-opening; some have become christians, some have new age beliefs, some are athiests.

Jehovah's Witnesses in Crisis. My initial observations.
by candidlynuts ini recieved my copy today and have only spent an hour or so in looking it over.. i want to commend barbara anderson and those who assisted her , this is very well written and compelling.
if you haven't ordered a copy yet, i encourage you to do so.. (forgive me if i word this badly my awake college education might show ) my initial reaction to what i've been reading is how the watchtower society lawyers, headquarters etc does not apper to be any kind of organization led by god.
it appears to be a business trying to protect it's treasures stored upon the earth.

CONVERSATION WITH MY JW SISTER LAST NIGHT......
by Mary inwell i guess this was a long time in coming, but yesterday afternoon, my family all got together and had a bbq at my parents' home.
when my parents left at around 6:00pm to drive my one non-dub sister home, my other sister and brother in law (former elder), stayed for a while longer.. we've never discussed my leaving 'the truth' a couple of years ago but she brought it up last night and we started talking about the religion.
everyone had been drinking but no one was drunk, so alot got said.

Should I go to non-JW cousins wedding?

this week i got in the mail two birthday cards from non-jw aunt and grandma who are apparently delighted that there's a niece and granddaughter out there to whom they can send birthday cards.
also got an invite to my cousins wedding.

PS hope the snow's good for you, Mr Frass is giving it another go heh! We went the week before last, 130km winds, it was pretty rugged, I didn't go out much, read Harry Potter instead, but I had a nice relaxing time away from work!!
PPS Did you have your anniversary break at Uncle Bruce's yet?

The Funeral Part 1
by WLG inthe funeral part 1. i think maybe i can finally type this and see the keyboard long enough to finish it.. my brother wasnt exactly a dub.
he was pretty far into drugs for the last few years.
i could see the turmoil in him as he was torn between what his very sharp mind told him and the truth, as well as the version of events he was supposed to believe about his childhood.
