Welcome and I'm glad you shared your story.

I was faded over 20 years when I found this site and had a similar reaction to you, Aud, and many others here. I was literaly shaking as I read different stories. It's that sense of wonderment that I was not the only one...............I had sort of felt that It was my shortcoming, even though I did not feel it was the truth, I still felt that it was pretty close.

Grand Canyon / Sedona

my fiance and i visited the grand canyon and sedona last weekend and i was deeply impressed.

i'd never been to either place before then.. the grand canyon was so unreal!

it was snowing there which was just beautiful!

We took the kids over 4 years ago Disneyland, Vegas/Grand Canyon, Ski-ing at Steamboat then Hawaii at the end. The Grand canyon was spectacular, we went down to the river by helicopter and had a boat ride.

but not to the most touristy parts..loved it

that was the only drawback, it was a bit like a conveyer belt, so many people. But time was limited and it was a great way to experience a lot. I'd love to go back again.

It's a great song, easy to play too. P2 from Thoms put me on to her and the "wreck of the day" album, I love it, played it to death. But I was a bit dissapointed when I checked her out on youtube and she didn't play, only sang.

Another current fav listen of mine that has been featured on Grays is KT Tunstall...........and she's Scottish.

I gotta check out Greys!

That was well put together, a chilling watch.

I was interested to see the footage of the Africans, especially the albino brother (racking my brains trying to remember his name). They came to the London International Assembly in 69 then spent time in Scotland. Anyone know what happened to him.

I seem to recall Rupert Bradbury owning Afghan Hounds that attacked Jean Strickland

I've got huge blanks in my memory from those times, but I do remember a lot of the names, and the Bradbury's/Afghan's does pull my chain?! I remember my mum said they had to get rid of them, don't know about the biting incident.

I love the way this thread had brought so many Scots out of the woodwork

elders have to know everything and i mean everything !!!!!!.

you know this morning i got woken by my dad and apparently he got hauled into an elders meeting last night and was told that he has to put his wedding on hold (see previous post) because my so called active brother sat down and had a chat with them and told them that my dad owed my mum money ( which is getting sorted out anyway damn solicitor taking their time) and i thought the whole idea of my brother and his wife were to have a chat about their marriage, anyway they also brought up how my dad is getting married so quickly and how did he get a scriptual divorce ( which no one know's how he got one).. i even rang my mum ( i was very upset by this time) and said my mind on that my dad deserves to have a life and that even though my brother doesn't have much contact with him he should leave him alone even if he doesn't agree with what he is doing .

he left us ( me and my brother) alone when we made our choices so why can't they leave him alone.. so why do the elder have to know about my dads personal life(as he has done nothing wrong) when there are more than others who ned help..... you know, now i know why i left so much crap that goes on that is really needless they don't need to know everything.... or do they?.

please no criticism and such that people seem to spew!.

i have not been to a bookstudy in a year or been door to door either.. been using travel and health of my wife and family (actually very true) but they're relentless!!!.

My parents moved the family to the other side of the globe to start again.

Pretty drastic, but it can work.
