With the crazies that people in Israel have to live with day to day I have no doubt that Jews and Arabs will NEVER be able to live peacefully.
Can anyone tell me; do followers of Judaism ever renounce their religion because of the corruption they see or is it 'once a Jew always a Jew'?
And I took an anti-American feeling from that news report too. It wasn't just because she was a woman.

What's the most stupid comment a JW told you?
by JH ini remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.
yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

If it wasn't for the "Truth".......
by restrangled inhow many out there heard that statement in their lives?.

Let me add something here about beating if it's not too distasteful.
As a young MS trying to be the perfect father, husband and dub I had NO skills whatsoever in any of those things. If my little kids were fidgetting at the meeting and a look didn't fix them then it was out the back for a good whacking. This kind of discipline carried on at home but in a much more angry and out of control way.
I expected them to be tiny adults in concentration and behaviour and I feel bad and justified at the same time.
Now I'm out I feel sick at how I treated my three oldest children all because of my warped religious ideas. -

In-laws from planet INSANE!
by free2beme inoh, i know it is so common to not get along with your in-laws, and comedians pull off this issue all the time.
i just think i have two of the most insane in-laws in my life and want to share some crazy in-law stories and wondered if others had some good ones too, funny or not.
mine are a limitless bunch to pull from, as they always do something daily to add to the pile.. their home, and trying to make it better.. my in-laws live in a 30 year old single-wide trailer with tip out.

Possibly a little insane, but quite sad too. It sounds like she has never processed her family's deaths very well. A professional grief counsellor might be money well spent.
Good on you for caring about her. -

I'm one of the EVIL SLAVE
by Amazing inbasd on my comment to another post titled "1979," i thought that this would make an interesting separate topic.. a little history: many here are aware that i was an ms and then elder and of the anointed while a jw.
i openly professed anointing for 20-years of the 27-years i was associated with the watchtower.
since that time, i have totally and completely renounced all but one watchtower doctrine.

Hi Jim, (Your Evilness). I was reading your post on 1979 and I wanted to ask what the single doctrine was you still agreed with. So I was pleasantly surprised to read this thread now that I've come in from mowing the lawn.
I knew a couple of the anointed quite well for a while when I was newly interested and I remember asking them how the GB got the new light from the anointed to publish in the mags. They told me that when they are inspired, a whole bunch of letters arrive in Brooklyn dealing with the same subject and this is the signal for the Org. to write an article on it.
Sounds like they were wasting stamps!

Bugger! I spent HOURS glueing those little bits of paper over all 'The Old Light'.
It's like having to buy the 're-mastered' CD to get a couple of songs that aren't on the vinyl.
(And don't ask what vinyl is! ;) ) -

I never thought I would live to see
by Junction-Guy inthe day when smoking was banned in paintsville kentucky.
this little town where my family comes from is not only smack dab in the bible belt, but is also the tobacco belt.
eastern kentuckians have a higher rate of smoking than probably anywhere in the u.s. the new ban will affect only restaurants.

Five Mistakes women make in relationships

1) Yes, we can't mind read. We know you're upset but what is it and should I ignore it? Don't make me guess, it's just too hard.
2) When you say 'yes' do you really mean 'no'? Sometimes being honest is better than being 'nice'.
3) Please be consistent. If you can excuse yourself for erratic behaviour because of your period why can't I
ask if your weird behaviour is because of your period.
4) Don't tell everybody about the dumb things I've done.
5) Yes dear, you can multitask but so can I. It's just that when I'm driving I don't believe it's clever to
be able to watch the road, listen to the radio, send a text and make eye contact with my passenger.
BTW guys, notice that on a thread for men,42% of the opinions have been expressed by women so far! Bless 'em. ;) -

New Zealand, like Ireland have had a complete ban on public smoking for a few years now. No smoke in bars, restaurants, sports stadiums, theatres, rock concerts or circuit assemblies.
After the initial furore everyone got used to it. Interestingly, we still have a huge number of young women smokers whereas other sectors of the population are reducing tobacco use.
