I have some really good news!!!

this june it will be offically 1 year since i fired the jw's as my religion.

since i have left 2 other relatives have left.

so all together 4 in the last 2 years.

This June it will be offically 1 year since I fired the JW's as my religion. Since I have left 2 other relatives have left. So all together 4 in the last 2 years. This has left my JW family reeling and they think satan has infultrated our family some how. I virtually have no contact with them but they send these zinger e-mails once or twice a month telling me to leave satan and come back to Jehovah. I am told that my brother and I are responsible for the deep depression our parents have fallen into. I know it's not our fault.

So anyway Brooklyn has lost 2 more. Thought I would share the good news.

I am in college and very busy with everyday life. I am happy to say my dub past has not hindered me from being able to lead a some what normal happy life.

The Best Revenge as a so called "Apostate" is...HAPPINESS

good morning all and happy sunday to you and your families..... don't you find that when you are asked by a jw how you are doing, they expect you to say.... horrible, terrible, i am so unhappy..blah blah blah.

witing for that kind of reply so they can say in return,"well if you would only return to jehovah, and his spirit appointed organization you would be happy again.

" you know the drill.

I could not agree more. I don't think my JW relatives believe me when I tell them I am happy. It was really hard at first. I was very, very fortunate that I was guided out of the org by my brother who had been there done that and I had a lot of support upon my exit. Some witnesses cannot fathom that you can be happy outside the borg. Really sad for them.

conversations overheard in Vegas and other musings

in las vegas last week, i overheard two very interesting conversations.. on friday we took the bus to fremont street, and a young woman got on and sat behind us.

she immediately started talking, very weird stuff.

her voice was very raspy and whispery, but loud.

Hi Mulan. I was on Fremont over the Holiday weekend. I went to this cheesy little dive called Mermaids for some "free" drinks. If you give the waitress a nice tip from the start they don't water down the drinks and they keep them coming while playing the slots. I stick to the penny slots and play one at a time. Anyway much to my surprise after I left I saw a JW that I know coming out of the strip joint across the street. I waved at him and the look on his face was priceless. He just stood there like an idiot and I went up to him and told him not to worry I would not tell on him. I said only a JW would do that and since I am no longer one he has no reason to worry. He told me thanks. I asked him why he was going to strip joints while still a dub. He said he knew he has a problem but was working on it. I told him not to feel guilty for going to a strip joint. It was a normal thing for a young male to feel and I told him to keep going.

last time one called i told the lady i was on the do not call list and she hung up on me. how rude. i guess she did not want her company to pay that $11,000 fine.

NEED ADVICE ON FAKING A REINSTATEMENT

a friend of mine who is df'd is seriously considering trying to get reinstated in order to have his family back in his life.

this is not an easy decision because he's fully aware that this isn't "the truth", but the pain of being excluded from normal family relations is really tearing him.

he has two choices: either move away from his family and try and start a new life, or bite the bullet, try and get reinstated and then do the fade.

There is a lot of really good advice here.

I too have been told to come back even though I no longer believe it. Because of my apostatcy status I would have to sit at the back of the ~~bus~~ KH for no telling how long. Maybe years. I pointed out to the family members who suggested this that would mean me lying and they said Jehovah moves hearts and that eventually I might not have to lie. What kind of side step is that?? I told them if they wanted to be cake eaters fine I could respect that. But they actually believe that BS and to suggest faking a reinstatement is beyond hypocritical. They call themselves liberal JW's. bah!! They are hypocrites.

I told them I could do anything I wanted out in the open. I did not have to hide and I would not have it any other way. This is by no means a slam to faders. I have all the respect in the world for you. I would have faded given the choice. I just think some of my dub relatives are hypocrites.

i've been on plenty of jcs but i never was the target of the elders, judicially.....although i would be now.

Three JC's (for the same offence) were scheduled for me but I canceled twice on them and stood them up the last time. I read here enough to know I would have been crazy to attend that Kangaroo court.

As An Ex or Fading Witness, Do You Have Any Goals?

do you hope to accomplish anything at this point in your life?

To finish up college as quickly as possible is my #1 goal. I am also catching up on all the things I missed out on while in the dubs. I don't know if I should post this or not but it is a goal. I want to have sex. I just have not found the right guy yet. I don't want marriage or anything but I don't want it to be with just anyone. After I graduate college I want to start my own business. I've always wanted that.

Another Elder Visit... GOSH!!!

well folks, got another elders visit this past weekend.

what true fun.

it lasted quite a long time and went absolutely nowhere.

The one Elder acted aggrivated and kept saying that all of my questions should have been answered when I first started studying (WTF?).

Been there, done that, have the T-Shirt. I advise you not to let those uneducated polyester suited clowns in your house again. It's admirable that you want to get your jw family out and hope you can do it but I don't know if it's worth having to sit through those meetings???

So can apostates attend jw weddings now?

i have been officially gone from the witnesses less than 2 months but i know they are always coming out with new light.

i got a shock today when i was invited to a cousins wedding that will be held in a kh.

i am not invited to the reception.

I asked her why she wanted me there and she did not give much of an answer. Having me there would really stir things up. I know she has to know that. I have a bad feeling about going. I feel like she is setting me up for a major shunning or something. I still keep in touch with a couple of active relatives who are holding on by a thread and even they said something did not sound right about this. There was even a local needs talk given on apostacy after I fired the WT society according to them ( I feel really special about that). Something smells really rotten in Denmark. I'm not going.

if the elders came and inspected your home - what would they find?.

a casual look around reveals a box of "narnia" tissues on my desk, 12 or 14 non-witness translations of bibles on my shelves, many non approved novels [wifey's] on the reading table, plenty of 'apostate literature', a book or two on meditation, a hypnosis cd for weight loss, prob many toys that are not witness approved in the g-kids room, a half eaten birthday cake, a birthday balloon, xmas wrapping paper in the closet , a couple of r rated movies, music that is not acceptable.. that is just at first blush.
