I DO think America is experiencing a period of arrested development, but what else can we expect from a leader who rides the short bus?

Is the world really getting worse?
by Wordly Andre ini don't have to tell you how jw's use the line about how the world is just getting worse and it's a sign that we are in the end times.
what is your thought on the world?
is it really getting worse, or does every generation say that?

Personally, I would have to say better. Sure there is violence and war. But nothing on the scale of the past. I haven't heard of any Vikings raiding anywhere lately. Even the AIDS issue is something that we can control to a point with awareness and education. Nothing like the Black Plague for heaven's sake. Starvation has been around forever. Potato famines in Ireland and the Great Depression here in the US are good examples. At least now, people half way around the world are concerned and trying to find answers. I think we are even learning about the environment, and will begin to see a change for the better there soon.

My children are 20 and 22, and even though I know they are not ready for children, I am ready for some grandchildren! I'm fortunate to work at the Library, and see many children every day. They are plain fun for the most part. Oh heck, here's one of my favorite stories.
There was a kindergarten class that would come in every Tuesday. After they had chosen their one book each, they would all line up to check out with me. From the beginning of the year, I would call them by name. Scan the card and say "Good Morning Susie" or "Oh you picked a good one today Johnny" etc. Well, at the end of the year, one little girl started to hand me her card, and then she whipped it around behind her back and said "What's my name?" Hehehe I was so darn happy that I remembered and was actually able to tell her!!! She just beamed.
In subsequent years, I refrained from getting into that habit, I didn't want to push my luck!

Hey Andre, what part of the state are you in? I live in the Bay Area, and I am free of this sort of thing. As a matter of fact, I live in Silicon Valley, and I believe christianity is definitely in the minority here. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Atheists don't seem to be as anxious to preach...........

Right on Lore! This is one argument that really makes my ass want to dip a snuff (I have no idea what that means, but my dad used to use it in situations like this, and I like it). The idea that life is sooooo much worse than it has been in the past. But that has to be the idea, doesn't it? If mankind is actually making any kind of progress, what need is there for Armageddon? Ignorance and Ostrich syndrome.

Frankly, anyone that can't distinguish between Orson Welles, and George Orwell, needs to spend some serious time in the local library.

Is their any hope for the Muslim religion?
by free2beme inas much as i hear people say the muslims are peaceful and the extreme nature seen on the news, like what happened today in pakistan, i wonder if there is any hope for them.
have they become so polarized in the power of hatred and revenge, that there is no hope?
can they find peace, or are they just destined to just fight and kill themselves from one generation to another.

Yayyyy Bonnzo! Love Neil!
Every year here in the Bay Area, there is a concert to benefit a local school for disabled kids (Neil's son attended). The Bridge School Benefit. Some of the most fantastic shows ever. I try to go every year.
