Herein lies my problem. I want to get baptized, but now that I've learned all the "truth" about the Witnesses and their "faithful and discreet slave", I can't. Not into the JW organization anyway. My question is, can I get baptized elsewhere and it still be valid. I don't really agree with any organized religion 100%(maybe around 60%), so would my baptism be valid in God's eyes? Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what did you do?

My family was considering something like the lifeline for our mother. We also looked into ADT. They have a medical alert option with their security package. it costs alot to have it installed(about $200) but then it's ony around $35-$80 a month depending on which package you choose.

my husband was sick like that a few weeks ago and the only thing that eased the vomiting was liquilytes(similar to pedialite). I gave him 1 small sip every 20minutes until the entire 8oz. was gone. He kept it down and didn't throw up any more. the important thing with these electrolyte balancers is to only drink 1 to 2ccs every 20minutes. Any more and it'll probably come back up.These really saved him from getting too dehydrated and settled his stomach. He ended up drinking almost 2 and then switched to water and gingerale. Hope you feel better soon.

Circuit Overseer Celebrities?
by Delboy222 ini am a active jw, but one question i would like to know is why do these 'men' get treated as superstar celebrities when they attend the congregation?.
for as long as i can remember, there seems to be a 'buzz of excitement' when it is announced that he and his wife are due to visit.
what is so special about them?.

I've only been going to the KH for a little over a year and I noticed right off the bat that the CO got special attention. I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. I was introduced immediately the first time they came because I was fresh meat, the 2nd time I was stuck going out in service with the wife and some other women and I thought I would go crazy because she wouldn't shut up. she talked nonstop and it was mostly all about her and her "experiences". You could tell that she thought that she was imparting some great witness wisdom to me and I couldn't wait for the day to be over. She was also invited to my bible study and I think we got through about 4 paragraphs because she talked about herself so much and was prying into how I felt that we didn't really get through a whole lot of the study.

In the book misquoting jesus, it says that the scribe Erasmus left that part out(the father, the word, the spirit) because he said that he did not find them in any of the text. The theologians got mad and claimed that he purposely left them out to disprove the trinity. He told them that if they could find a greek text that had it in there, that he would include it in future editions. They falsely "produced" the text in greek so Erasmus put it in. This edition eventually was used to produce the King James Version of the Bible. Many other bibles besides the NWT leave that part out only a few leave it in.

Good to compare notes! Went to mine in December. I always felt they were more like amway conventions. Really trying to sell something and trying to get others to sell it for them.

"no man hath seen God at any time"
by mdb inin the book let god be true (watchtower bible and tract society, 1946), p.86-87, section titled is there a trinity?, while attempting to disprove the trinity doctrine using 1 tim 3:16, it states:
the translation, word for word from the greek, reads, "who was manifested in flesh.
" the american standard uses "he who"; other versions use the word "which".

this is the exact question I asked my study teacher. How can it be that no man has seen God, when Moses and other OT guys did. She told me that in the OT, noone every "saw" God. God may have "appeared in a cloud, etc." but noone ever actually saw God in bodily form or ever heard His voice. I still think that's far fetched, but that was their explanation.

ok why havent we got the truth?
by PMJ inok as you have gathered im a wittness and i for one beleave we have the truth.not saying every thing is or has all ways been right because we live in a imperfect world with imperfect people.but as far as jehovah being god and jesus being his son.and the coming war of arrmegeddon.i would say we have the truth.i no about all the mistakes and misunderstandings we have had in the past.but i feel that is past and we have moved on.and abandoned i no what you all say about the year 607 being wrong but that date all deapends on it desolation was 70 years or not.so im just trying to understand how some of you say you lernt you was being lied to?

pmj,
the main reason that I can't follow the WTS is because I don't like a group of people telling me what, when, where, and how I should worship Jehovah when that group of people are and have been wrong so many times. They have way too much control! furthermore, they think they can determine my spirituality by how many meetings I go to, how many conventions I go to and how many magazines I place. You see, they like to pull things from the bible to support their making people attend 5 meetings a week, even if that number is NOWHERE in the bible. What really stuck in my gut was when a brother gave a talk and said: "Jehovah has said that we need 5 meetings a week". That was an outright lie and I can never forget it.

The Stake is a more pagan symbol than the Cross
by jwfacts ini just found an interesting sumerian myth that i wanted to share.
the watchtower claims that the cross was not used by true christians and is of pagan origins.
(watchtower 1989 may 1 p.26 it reveres a pagan symbol masquerading as christian.

good point that they don't wear the pole around their neck. the only symbol they have is the watchtower symbol, but even that isn't plastered everywhere like the cross is. Not saying it is right or wrong to wear the cross or defending the watchtower. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what Jesus died on, just that he died. The WT makes way to much out of that and I think they do that just so they can be different.
Prime example, at the last 2 day assemble I said something about going to "church" and another sister said "you go to a church"? I guess the appropriate terminology is going to the "kingdom hall". My bible study teacher said they changed it because of this:
You go to the town hall to find out info on the town, so you go to a kingdom hall to find out about the kingdom AND to be distinguishable from other "generic" churches. That burns me for some reason. They change stuff just to be different when there is no biblical basis for it.
sorry to go off on rant
