Fleur,
" Good, true friendships are rare in this world. It always pains me to see people just let them go :( Maybe they don't realize how precious an extraordinary they really are."
You are absolutely right Fleur. True friends come along once in a blue moon. I just hope she realise this. What a waste and missed opportunity if she doesn't. If she does call I hope this time it's to continue our friendship.
Thanks for the sentiments

I'm feeling low - losing a friend
by Spectrum ini met a girl about a year and a half ago and we became really good platonic friends.
she was bright, cute and always put a smile on my face with her lovely sense of humour, just a great girl.
then one day with tears in her eyes she told me she had to leave but wouldn't tell me why.

Did Jesus "obstruct justice" by taking our punishment for us?
by DavidChristopher inwhat would happen today if a innocent person approached and requested a police officer who was locking up a guilty person, and asked to take their place and punishment?
i tried it and the cops, got upset and started acting upset.
so i pointed out that was what jesus did, and i was experimenting imitating him to see how his actions would be recieved in todays world.

I think the idea is he restored justice.
But the way I see it we should never have been punished for Adam and Eves fatal mistake if you follow human justice never mind perfect justice from God. -

The "study" went GREAT, my mom NOW has questions!!!!
by FreedomFrog inok, as some of you know, i was suppose to have a "study" with my mom and an elders wife yesterday.
well, the elders wife couldn't make it because "something came up".
i guess it was more important than my salvation.. anyway, i still went to my parents house.

I'm not sure if any has mentioned this but the one that sticks out like a sore thumb and is irrefutable are the false prophecies. No religious organisation should be able to withstand the onslaught this BS brings to their doorstep. False prophets are a big deal for JWs.
My mother is not a JW but is extremely sympathetic to their doctrines. I told her they are false prophets but of course she wouldn't listen, she just kept repeating like a chant, "no they are not", I waited for her to stop and gave her all the examples at which point she listened a little. I think a couple more sessions like this and i may break through. My mothers pet hate is false prophets as it is for all JWs.
Try this and see what happens! -

JoJo's Story...Part Deu
by kittyeatzjdubs inwhen we were living in grenada, i developed the bad habit of cutting myself on a regular basis.
it was interesting how i got to that point.
i was doing things that any other normal 13 or 14 year old girl would be doing, having crushes, kissing boys, cussing at school, listening to ''objectional music''....i know now that those were all normal things, but at the time i was sure i was doing wrong and needed to be punished for jehovah to forgive me.

((((JoJo))))
It's a tuff thing for a 14 year old to have to face, young children should never be in that position . I'm happy that you are in a great relationship now. -

The U.S. now has over 1,000,000 average publishers - Why?
by truthseeker instrange increase in u.s. publishers
over the last few months there has been an unusual increase in publishers in the united states, but baptisms have been falling.
when baptism rates are compared to the 2004/05 service year, only 4 out of the six months shown are higher than 2005/06 service year.

Maybe they are massaging the figures Or people are taking longer to get baptised.

lovelylil,
My mother has similar negative traits to this woman. She is not as extreme but she directs a lot of her negativity at me, putting me down calling me useless and the rest. I'd finally had enough. She would never listen to reason, I implored her to stop her negativity, and all she'd say is, "but this is the way life is i'm just stating the obvious", so I was flogging a dead horse. Now every time she tries that crap on me I shout her down and it's really working she is too afraid to start on me in case I lose it and it gets physical.
I think your friend may need a short sharp shock to snap her out of it as a first step. -

What is the most stupid thing you ever did?!!!

Here's mine:
It was in the day when the paraffin man went around selling to those that still had the old paraffin burners to keep their house warm. Well I was about 8 years old, I went for the first time to purchase that weeks paraffin. I asked the seller if he wasn't afraid of his van burning down with all that combustible fuel on board. He said that it is a safe fuel, took a match lit it and put the flame in small paddle of paraffin in his van. No cumbustion.
So I go home with the paraffin wanting to show my brother a new trick!! I poured a good amount of paraffin on the bathroom vinyl floor and said to my brother (he was a few years older than me) look, i'm going to throw a lit match on the paraffin and it won't burn. A curious look came over his face. I struck the match and as a threw it onto the floor a heard my brother say almost in slow motion, "Nooooooooooooo", on that yell as the match was flying through the air it suddenly dawned on me, "F*&^%K, what if it does ignite" I had a couple of terrifying slow motion seconds as the lit match made it's way inexorably to the paraffin strewn floor. I braced myself as it hit the paraffin liquid. The match settle in the paraphin my eyes glued on the match and praying that it wouldn't burst into flames. I breathed a sigh of relief as the flame drowned in the paraffin, safely extinguishing just as the seller had demonstrated. Phew!!!
My brother called me an stupid idiot and told me to clean up the mess before our dad saw it.
If my dad, being a man of little patients, had seen that event he would have sent me to the next kingdom without waiting on Jehovah!
I think paraffin needs a wick, had I been really demented and poured it on carpet I would have burned the house down!!! -

Van Gogh,
"Did your realization have anything to do with a certain age you reached, or at what age did you realize this?"
I don't remember exactly when the realisation set in but certainly ageing, maturing and the accumulation of wider knowledge had something to do with it. Their scaremongering doctrines affected me from the age of 8 to 37/8, so like you, for most of my life my thoughts were skewed from reality. It wasn't until I accepted my mortality that I totally escaped from the twisted idealogy of some 19th century crackpots. VG they worked us over real good.
Now that I know I'm going to die I can get on with living. -
