Interesting that you are involved with BRCI. You probably know Ron Frye. He is a great guy and smarter than I could ever hope to be. What a writer! He did a newsletter for years that was absolutely brilliant. We got aquainted back in the early 80's when BRCI was formed out of a meeting in Gasden, Alabama I attended. Ray Franz was there too. I'll never forget it.

Virgochick, I don't know that there is an answer to just plain, snotty, no class people. My wife has been a saleswoman for a very upscale dept. store (SAKS) for many years. She has a loyal clientele of very wealthy women. Funny thing is, the wealthier they are the nicer and more patient they are. The ones that are the rudest are those who are probably buying their first and last pair of $650.00 shoes, then they'll go back to JC Penny.
Those two you dealt with sound like they probably have no other way to feel important other than by being rude to people who can't really respond in kind. They are chickenshit. I read through the intro. to your topic about 3 times before I realized that you really don't care if it makes sense or not, in fact, it's my guess you wanted it to be confounding. That's OK with me. Personally, I try to make myself as clear as I can, out of caring that my own postings here be understood. I'm trying to communicate in my own imperfect way. Maybe your just too deep for me.

as i mentioned in an earlier post, i went to see the movie united 93 with a group of friends who were with me at the wtc on 9/11.. first, i encourage all of you who feel that you are ready to see this reenactment as a movie, to see it.
because it is on a wide screen and most of the film takes place in the traffic controller's offices and the inside of the plane, you get the feeling of actually being part of the action.. the film tells the story of how the traffic controllers, military, and the passengers of the plane realized that what started out as a few planes missing from radar turned into a delibrate terrorist attack on our government.. filmed in what seemed to be almost real time you see how people went from bewilderment, panic to resolve and of course eventually the actual tradgey.. it is quite heartwenching watching the passengers realize that they were going to die, and how many of them communicated with their loved ones, leaving them with messages of love and resolve.. i hope i haven't given too much away.. it really makes you realize that an unforeseen occurrence can alter your life forever.
The reviews I've read are similar to yours. I will see it but I may wait for DVD just so I can control it if it gets too intense.

Started noticing gray hairs when I was 19. No surprise, it runs in the family. They started calling me the Silver Fox (among other things) by the time I was 50.
i don't know of anyone who can answer this question totally but i do like this man's response!

(don't you love it when someone says that) But seriously, Jim, if you have read this thread you know that "self-rightous drivel" is exactly what I was whining about, it seems to be the stock and trade of 'believers', and it comes through loud and clear in their posts, even when discussing otherwise mundane things. And as far as being an agnostic or athiest, you decide. But I have made it clear here that when it comes to these big questions of God vs No God, etc. I DON'T KNOW. I simply challenged those who trumpet that they DO KNOW. I knew their beliefs were unprovable when I started the topic. That was the point. There has been way too much assumption that everyone who got out of the WTS became a fundy. I just wanted to remind all you good folks that not all of us have retained ANY remnants of either WT or Christian teachings.
