  a couple of days ago i had finally forced myself to set down and fill in a form document that was downloaded with adobe as a pdf.

  i had been putting this off as long as possible because it was so tedious and boring but i now had to complete it.

  four hours and a gallon of coffee later i was on the 11th and final page when i backspaced to correct a typo...yeah, that's right...poof!

  A couple of days ago I had finally forced myself to set down and fill in a form document that was downloaded with Adobe as a PDF. I had been putting this off as long as possible because it was so tedious and boring but I now HAD to complete it. Four hours and a gallon of coffee later I was on the 11th and final page when I backspaced to correct a typo...yeah, that's right...poof! it was gone. I spent another hour trying to find it and then another later in the evening after I got a couple of screwdrivers (the kind with orangejuice). No luck.

  This is the kind of thing that really tests my character. I'm happy to say I didn't kick my dogs or yell at my wife, I just wimpered and I'm going to do it over again like a big boy. But this time I'm going to do it on Word, print it out , then cut and paste it onto the form, copy it and FAX the damn thing!

  ive used many expletives in my life, especially when ive hit my finger with a hammer!

  however, ive seen some words and expressions used recently on this board that should be edited-out in my humble opinion!

  okay, if you absolutely need to use a curse word, just put the first letter then some ***.

  Maybe this is an opportunity clear up some confusion. I recently put up a topic called "Wine sippin', Cracker Nibblin' weirdos..." It was about my observation that most "annointed" I had known had very strange personalities. I didn't think it was very controversial but I did refer to mental illness.

  After one response it completely vanished. Was this a technical glitch or was it removed for some reason? If it was removed on purpose that's fine, but I'd like to know why so I can avoid stepping on the same toes again.

  although i love my parents, very often they lie to try to get out of a jam.

  then they have to lie again to cover the first lie.

  and often for really stupid reasons, they will lie instead of saying the truth and being direct.

  Strange paradox - the ' weakest' J Dubs were in a way the most hardcore.

  I knew many of them. Some in my own family. They were the ones considered spiritually weak because they:

  -struggled with putting in field service time. What time they did put in was usually by being the silent partner with someone who did the talking at the door.

  -found it almost impossible to be in the TM school. A Bible reading at most and this took hours of preparation and needed assistance in developing an intro and conclusion. Then they were almost physically ill when the time came to get on the platform, many times calling in 'sick' at the last minute.

  -never raised their hand to answer a question.

  -never conducted a home Bible study.

  -had been in the org. for decades but could no more explain a WT doctrine than they could fly, i.e. the Gentile times, any of the Revelation interpretations, etc. even if they had just sat through the WT or Book study in which it was laid out.

  -were very uncomfortable with minor responsibilities like carrying the microphone or assisting behind the lit counter.

  BUT - they were absolutely extreme when it came to-

  -refusing blood transfusions for themselves or their children. Seeing it through to the point of death or 'kidnapping' their infants from the hospital. You would find many court orders that were imposed involved this type of JW.

  -going to prison over the draft issue, doing their time and coming out and resuming their marginal status.

  -shunning DF'd persons beyond even what the WTS required, especially if it was their own family members to whom they could be downright cruel.

  Well, you get the picture. Ever observe this yourself? I have a theory on where these people are coming from. What's you're take?

  What was the "last drop" which made you to leave JW organization?

  this is a littlebit of quiz but still worth of talking.

  so, what was the last thing which made you think that jw's are not "the truth"?

  i'm trying to collect things, which are crucial points for jw beliefs so i can write something about all of those things.

  I guess one of the final straws was when the 21 yr old nephew of an anointed 'super-elder' in the cong. tried to seduce our 12 year old daughter. When the incriminating, pornographic letter he had written her was found I called a couple of other elders and they agreed he should be reported to the police. But before I could do that the Uncle found out and persuaded all of the elders to talk to me about not going to the "worldly" authorities. I couldn't believe my ears and I turned him in anyway. He was required to register as a sex offender forever more. Then I was the bad guy! Super-Elder gave my wife and I the evil eye everytime we crossed paths at the KH. We were outta there shortly thereafter.

  I remember one of the ground rules for associating with a disfellowshipped person in the household was that you must not have "a Spiritually Good Time" with them. Of course, if they were were marriage partner, you could have a sexually good time with them. Just as long as nobody yelled out "oh God! oh Jesus H. Christ!"

  if asked: would you marry a prostitute most people would say no, but if asked would you marry a prostitute's daughter that doesn't like this game and has never been in it, would you do it, to have a prostitute as a mother in law and grand mother of your children?

  i personally wouldn't do it hard though it may be on her decent daughter.

  My wife of 41 years told me about the time when she was about 10 years old that she and her younger brother and sister were sent outside while her mother and father were formally married by the JW brother who had been studying with her mother. That's right, she was a bastard. Her mother was not a prostitute but had led a pretty wild lifestyle. Her dad never became a witness but he went along with the marriage thing.

  Funny how people of different cultures attach stigmas to the offspring of people like my inlaws. To me, when a child is born he or she has the right to start with a clean slate and become whatever they become.
