Looking for some insight on why some people here do this
by free2beme ini left the witness religion in 1997, and when i left i never turned back and do not even own or read any of their publications.
i know it is wrong, beyond all doubt, so why waste my time at their meetings, conventions or assemblies.
why read information that is known to be bias, hurtful and not very well thought out?

Free2..
You have expressed my feelings very well. But I have come to realize that it does serve a purpose both for the posters and some of the readers, esp. lurkers and faders. It's not for me, I dropped the whole thing like a dirty diaper, but as the saying goes, "there are a million stories in the naked city" or, as I like to say, "there are a million titties in the naked story"

Just whining...feel like a bucket of ice water dumped on me.
by Gregor ina couple of days ago i had finally forced myself to set down and fill in a form document that was downloaded with adobe as a pdf.
i had been putting this off as long as possible because it was so tedious and boring but i now had to complete it.
four hours and a gallon of coffee later i was on the 11th and final page when i backspaced to correct a typo...yeah, that's right...poof!

OK believers, time to put up or shut up...
by Gregor inapparently, a large percentage of xjw's who post on this site have embraced some other form of god/jesus belief to replace the wt doctrine.
most of them fall into the "i accept the lord jesus christ as my personal savior" class.
they are still extremely attached to the old "forgiveness of sin through the shed blood of jc" line.

Jake,
This is the second post from you wherein you seem to be implying that you are imbued with some divine power and abilities. If this is just your sense of humor that's great! I kind of have an odd sense of humor myself! But I must say after reading over some of your past quotes on other threads that I am somewhat concerned that you are, as they call it in the mental health profession, a whacko. Whatever. Hope you are doing well and enjoying life.

Speaking to an Elder tomarrow, I'm almost free!!!!!!!
by drew sagan inmajor developments in my world, just wanted to let you all know about it.
i'm meeting with the elder tomarrow afternoon.
i'm going to stick heavy to the watchtowers interpretation of matthew 24 and how it is unbalanced, sensationalized and out of touch with any historical evidence or respect for the bible.

So glad to hear you gave up on that idea (sorry, but it was a bad one) of going in deep in order to get out. From everything you are now saying it really sounds as though your 'stars' are in alignment. Keep that calm, assured demeanor in your meeting tomorrow, you'll be fine and it sounds like your wife is ready to stand up for her own feelings about the org.
Best to you.

She's the one who has already made a legal committment to someone. (Since her husband travels on business, does she feel he has already been unfaithful? Sometimes this makes a woman feel she is released from her committment) It is for her to go through the ordeal of undoing it if what she feels for you is more love than lust. As for you, if she did crawl over a mile of broken glass for you are you worthy of it? That is to say, do you feel more love than lust? If not, it wouldn't be the first time two people went through hell only tho find out that their hormones couldn't justify the trouble.

"And just where does stuff like that go? Is there a Twilight Zone? " My thoughts exactly. I was so flabbergasted I sat there and said "naw, can't be gone. That would be unthinkable" Two hours later I was gasping for breath and using words I will not repeat here.

Happy to hear you nixed the abortion idea. You will never regret it. Keep that child and raise him/her yourself with the help of your support network. If Mr. UK wants to be a part of his childs life he'll have to figure out how to do it. As a father of 5 I can tell you that 18 yrs. will go by in the blink of an eye and this current dilemma will seem trivial compared to the companionship of your child.
Very best wishes to you.
