Hello board.

i am a none jw and never have been, although most of my family are.
the lifestyle i lead has caused me to become a "black sheep" and i am limited to a couple of phone-calls a year, which suits me just fine.

Respect your Elders - they just moved up a class!

elders now are "glorious ones"
in the past the watchtower society (wts) claimed that the "glorious ones" in 2 peter 2:10-12 and jude 8 are of the "anointed" or "144,000" or "remnant" of such.

Elders are supposed to be shepherds, you know leave the 99 and go save the lost one. However they toss out the lost one to save the 99. A sure sign they are not true shepherds.

I hated it, but put in my 10 hours (cheated) to remain an elder. Never was productive at it so I feel I am free from the blood of all men. and "women". No-one ever joined from my preaching. Oh by the way welcome beachbugg

Question about "good works" ??? ???
by Kristofer innot ever having been a jw, i was curious to know something.... are witnesses ever encouraged to do good works for the less fortunate?
(giving to the poor, working in a soup kitchen, helping the elderly, other volunteer work, etc..).
i know scripture states you will know believers by their "fruit".

I just wanted to say thanks
by leftbelow ini don't post alot but i read alot and because of my situation i can't really devulge much about myself (i could tell some really good stories to).
but i just wanted to say thanks to those who do share because it really helps and i would hate to forget anyone so i won't list all those who i feel like i have come to know thru your post and who have been a real encourgement to me.

I am STUNNED......
by Frannie Banannie ini just got a call from the social security office.
now......these people sent me a letter of denial of ssi even before their doctors examined me a coupla weeks ago, so i couldn't imagine why they would be calling me.
at first i thought she was telling me that they'd mistakenly sent out the denial letter to me, but that wasn't it.

I was an elder and very popular, you know the " in group". Probably more people came to me than any of the others for advice or to rat someone out. It caused a big thing when I left. Not bragging but that is the way it was.

Is the Watchtower Society guilty of this?
by Honesty indoes the watchtower society go beyond what is written in the bible with their doctrines?.
i have doubts that any of the following watchtower doctrinal issues are specifically mentioned as 'do's" or "don'ts" in god's word:.

Ezra: Yes you do go beyond things written. Think about the dates the society has given and the failures. Think about blood transfusions, Think about personal sexual laws that the society has written, show me them in the bible. Think about the shunning the society encourages, how is that loving your neighbor as yourself. Just to name a few.
