Witnessing at school

i was in class and by these two women (one who was a christian and the other student i am unsure of).

i asked them, randomly, "do you know much about jehovah's witnesses?

" -- they both said "yes" and the non-christian said "i had a jw friend and he really hated it... he disaproved of what they taught" -- i started to talk about shunning and disfellowship.

Baptismal date, do you remember?

yesterday was my 15th year anniversary of being baptized.

may 11, 1991. i'm not sure it counts anymore since i was df'd last feb. 3, 2005, but still, it is a remarkable period of time to pass by and reflect on what changes have occurred.. i was 18 years old.

the "internet" was barely a blip.

I honestly cannot remember the day I was baptised. It was some time in the fifties. That's about all

I remember about it. Glad I saw the light that has got brighter and brighter as time goes on.

Have been out for 25 years +.

well... i've finally worked up the courage to get an account & start posting on this site.

i've been lurking for a couple of months now, voraciously reading all the, mmm, "delightful words of truth" i've found here.

i'm currently deep in dubdom, so i have to be pretty ambiguous about some personal details, (i'm really paranoid, hopefully that will pass :-/) but my story in a nutshell is: i was born into this religion, baptised in my mid teens, happily married to a wonderful (& thankfully, somewhat open-minded) jw lady, & now, several years later, i'm starting to seriously question some of what i believe.

regardless of how you feel about jehovah's organization--the true religion, one thing for sure, you will not escape the almighty jehovah's judgement right along with satan the devil and his destructive organization.

how will you save yourself and those who follow you...?

it's ashame that your energies could not be put to a more positive use.

jw I cannot find in my bible where it says to pray to Jehovah. I think some old fart in Broolyn thought that up.

Pallbearers, Are JW's allowed to be pallbearers

i once heard that we were not allowed to be pallbearers, but i can't find anything in the wt.

any idea's?

I was a pall bearer many times as a JW. This was many years ago so things might have changed by now. I think this has happened a few times in JW history.
