As far as advice goes if you can claim any family crisis or work more hours to take you away from the "ministry" in some halls they may ask you to step down. When I ask to step down the PO acted like he was going to hit me. (Later I found out some elders were trying to remove him from being the PO and he thought I was one of the group trying to make him look bad) but regardless steping down without a good reason or being less active will raise a red flag. Start slow and reduce your field service a little at a time I was able to step down after reducing my field service to about 5 to 6 hours a month for 3 months and be as low profile as you can.

Why you still go on Field Service? Why Elders posts on JWD?
by tooktheredpill inthis morning, a poster asked me why i still go on field service:.
just wondering if your conscience bothers you that you are continuing to "spread the jw gospel"?
do you have plans to stop fs soon?

I have a theory. Please take my poll!
by changeling ini'd like you all to tell me 2 or 3 things:.
1- were you raised a witness or not?.
2-if you were, was your family very "theocratic" or not so much?.

Why don't YOU believe anymore?
by Crumpet insomeone on another site was asking "what if they are right?
" which made me think about why i know that they are not and i wondered what was your epiphany or road to damascus moment or moments that just made you realise - hey i've been led up the garden path here!.
here was my response but i really think a list of reasons on one thread for easy reference for newbies would be good.

I had a Public Talk on the end of the system and one section was on 1914 so I thought I would get some outside info to add to the talk and researched the year 607 B.C.E. at my local Univ. and that started me looking at everything it is not real easy but at least it's real

Is there any bitterness between you and the one who brought you to the Org.
by JH indo you feel any additional bitterness from the brother or sister that gave you a bible study and expected you to remain a good jw.. althought i'm not df'd, the one that gave me a bible study that led to my baptism never calls, or comes over, although he is an elder today.. i feel plenty of bitterness from his part..

Well he left (appostate) many years ago and of course like a good JW I shunned him. I really wish I could find him and tell him how sorry I am for being suuch a dork he was a good friend.

Two Classes?
by VanillaMocha73 inso i am going through the bible from a christian perspective this time and then going back to the reasoning book to figure out how on earth the jws ever came up with the stuff they did.
it is not like i am a n00bi3 - i was raised jw, pioneered, went to pio school, studied diligently for years, zealous, etc.. .
where do they come up with the two classes - one going to heaven and one not?

Dog Lovers? Sad day for me.
by unique1 inwe found out this weekend that my doggie of 10 years has a tumor in her mouth.
it got infected and swelled and that was the only way we knew anything was wrong.
i took her for a biopsy this morning and was told by the vet, that he thought sending the biopsy off was a waste of money.

New Watchtower - Who is the Antichrist?
by TheKings ini admit to being curious as soon as i saw this new bit of propoganda put on the dining room table 'casually' in my view by my mother.
i know i can't look at any of the magazines without being questioned why...so i took a look while i had some private time.. what a fine lot of manure... :p. .
they must be getting scared in brooklyn.

This is sensationalist propaganda aimed at getting people to take their magazine kind of like the Left Behind people.

How Would You Explain The Stupidity Of The Blood Doctrine?
by minimus init seems like the witnesses are going to be told that they they now can take blood---at least some of it!
i asked my mom a few minutes ago if she would take blood fractions and she said "no!".
i gave her a head's up on what to expect from the new km.

I might be making this to simplistic but if there is nothing wrong with, water (the major part of blood) and all of these fractions if you took them separate but to take them all together is wrong in God's eye's? They make things so complex I think many may just say it is easier to reject all of them. Reading the new KM insert made my head hurt.

Statistical effect of disassociating the inactive
by AuldSoul init has been tossed around several times on the forum, and invariably someone pipes up that the wts will never do it because of the adverse effects on the numbers.
there is a glaring flaw in that reasoning.. the inactive are never counted as publishers.
the numbers that are reported are of active, reporting publishers.. if they disassociate every single person who is inactive and refuses to reactivate themselves, the numbers will not be negatively affected at all.
