Trouble with sharks is that they don't follow the scriptural command and "abstain from blood".
This in common with leeches, fleas, vampire bats and lawyers.
Only kiddin'

JWs - Prudes or not Prudes?
by Spectrum ini was looking at jwconnections out of curiosity thinking i'd find a selection of prudish jw women but was shocked to find that some of these women don't look prudish at all.
they'ed probably give worldly women a run for their money.
maybe things are changing.

Watchtower Quotes now on WatchtowerInformationService.org
by Rado Vleugel ini have added the section watchtower quotes to watchtower information service.
these quotes were originally published on quotes.watchtower.ca; the website that has been shut down by the watchtower society.
i have not mirrored the quotes-website, but integrated it into watchtower information service.

I'm new here and have lots of questions
by jaada inhello, i am new to this board, i am not a jehovahs witness however i studied with them for years, i went out into service a couple of times, but i havent done anything in 4 years.
i am so confused.
i always have been scared of the last days thing, but i could never accept the fact that while i was in the meetings, my husband and parents were all at home and the witnesses would tell me that unless they changed and started coming to the meetings that they would be killed!

Hi Jaada
Welcome and stick around to learn from mainly cool, happy and smart people.
I experienced a lot of clairvoyance as a kid but was told by my JW sister that it was demons who were talking to me and showing themselves to me. It took me years to get over this idea and now I'm very happy as a spiritualist, although this is more a personal relationship with my idea of a creator than as part of a "church". I continue to be fascinated by the life and words of Jesus Christ, but also by Buddha and other teachers.
Having been indoctrinated by the KH Thought Police during my impressionable teens I wandered through life for quite a few years carrying their negative implants. I had physically left but I still had their influence in my mind and attitudes for a few years to follow. When I think back I'm astounded how I carried such pointless and nonsensical baggage. I can't think of the full list right now but stuff like: Homophobia, g oing into any other type of church, blood transfusions and bleeding meat,
crucifixes and any catholic imagery, etc.
Try and get them out of your mind. Sounds easier than it is I know.
I believe we are created by a loving entity who won't be trashing 6 billion people as part of his master plan to conclude a story which started with Eve eating some fruit. It's all too daft.
If anything, Karma will be dealing with the liars, child abusers, hypocrites and monsters that pose as "the true church".

The Good News and Bad News (Brace yourselves; cause it is bad)
by stillAwitness inthe good news: i just saved a bunch more money on my car insurance by switiching to progressive!
(though i do miss the free talking duck aflac would send me once a year)
the bad news: it has just been announced at the kingdom hall today that as of now the watchtower is being translated into 152 languages instead of what used to be 151.

Great News StillAWitness! It's always good to save a bit of money on car insurance , what with premiums going up all the time.
Maybe the new language is Pennsylvania Dutch? Have the Armish been "done" yet?
Cockney Rhyming Slang would be another good one.

Shazard thanks. Thought as much. Surely it wouldnt be too tough to estimate? If you took the total number of kingdom halls and then came up with say one DF per hall per year, do you think that sounds about right?
