The bad girls were the main reason why I looked forward to circuit assemblies when I was a teenage lad.

Bad girls
by JimmyPage inwhen i was growing up there were a group of girls in a neighboring congregation who hit their teen years with a vengeance.
they wore a lot of makeup, acted "worldly", and got in a fair share of trouble (a lot of back room discussions at the hall).
they were true rebels (with a cause, i believe now, looking back).

This has given me a good laugh, but is it truly for real?
At least they're all cheered up by a bit of mergers and aquisition news. Bless.

Cracks in the Veneer
by mrsjones5 inlast night i was talking to a dear cousin of mine (if i had to classify her i would say she a liberal jw who firmly believes) and she said "they told me that i wouldn't graduate high school and now i'm almost 50".
after she said that i waited for her to follow that line of thought to some conclusion of perhaps "maybe they're wrong" but it didn't happen.
i don't have any desire to start working on her to leave the borg (though i would love it if she and other members of the family would wake up) but i do find it interresting to listen to and watch the cracks in the veneer.. josie.

Met up with my JW sister today who just recently talks about the distant future without mentioning Armageddon™ at all.
A long time die hard Dub, she was always looking at life from the angle of it finishing soon. Not moving house, not getting a new car etc..
It's weird to see her out of that mindset and more attuned to thinking: "oh well it's coming, but it could take so long I'm not going to plan my life around it anymore."
Gotta love those cracks.

This is a superb piece of satire. I just want to print copies off and go and give them to householders. Shame that only JWs and ex JWs would get it!
Love the article on the internet. . . (a net they have prepared for my steps (psalms 57:6))
Another great read is Should Christians Use a Toilet? in QFR.
Very good point made in that "Christians when using a public toilet would certainly be in danger of immoral restroom poetry."
Your English is exemplary processor.

WT 15th April apostates / new light on miscarriages
by dozy instudy articles have strong counsel against apostates - modern day apostates display characteristics similar to those of the devil.
their mind may be poisoned by a critical attitude towards individuals in the congregations , christian elders or the governing body.
some apostates oppose the use of the divine name , jehovah.
-
Clam
Tut tut - more flip flopping.
At least apostates are consistent: there's been no "new light" with regard to the credibility of the WT. It has never wavered from the unbelievable crap that it's always been.

Trust in Jehovah in these hard economic times--but send us money
by Bonnie_Clyde inclyde has heard from two sources that a letter was read at the meeting last week.
after encouragement to trust in jehovah, they suggested that each publisher send about $5.70 to the society each month to help support the organization.
that's the way he heard it.

With Armageddon™ so close you can taste it, why would the Organisation need more money? Couldn't they just survive on their existing cash reserves?

Bad things that can happen with vegetables, couches and cat bowls
by Elsewhere inhttp://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?14,000_suffer_vegetable-related_injuries&in_article_id=497336&in_page_id=34.
14,000 suffer vegetable-related injuriesthursday, january 22, 2009. are health and safety rules over the top?
perhaps not, judging by the bizarre accidents we have in our own homes, frequently involving vegetables.. embarrassing incidents occur with alarming regularity more than 14,000 people ended up in hospital with compromising vegetable-related injuries.. about 500 adventurous types turned up at a&e having knobbled themselves with a sex aid.. and a mysterious 41 had had a close encounter with a goat, show figures from the royal society for the prevention of accidents.. then there are the fatal accid ents unfortunate souls have drowned in cat bowls and been killed by a sofa bed while looking for the remote control.. one 23-year-old from rochdale, greater manchester, died after slipping and becoming impaled on a lamp in the garden.. we can also damage other people, as shown by the mother who accidentally glued her daughter's eyes shut by squeezing in nail glue instead of eye drops.. 'there is a seasonal aspect to accidents,' said dr andrew dove of nottingham university hosp ital.

I once heard that a man was explaining to his proctologist that he and his wife were
making love on the couch and the channel changer "just got in the way."The proctologist had said that the odds were pretty remote.
