I think I am going to throw up. Very nice scenes of animals with humans, unfortunately you have only to look at many animals and insects to realize their whole way of life is to tear other apart. Also the happy pictures of children playing will not exist in this paradise. The society say once the earth is full, people will no longer have children. From what I remember they say that all mankind will be the same age about 30. As usual the society only show half the story.

last i heard from my dad, he only wanted to hear from my hubby who did not send in a letter because they weren't harassing him, just me.

6+ months later and i get an email this morning.

I gather there was a talk at the district conventions in the summer to reach out to inactive ones to try to get them back. This makes sense as they desperately need more witnesses to keep the numbers up.

I was flabbergasted myself several weeks ago when a witness who had avoided me like the plague smiled at me from her car.

Question for Christians Re: Cures

this is actually a sincere question (believe it or not!).

i've mentioned how christians may not look to find cures for things such as cancer, because they believe jesus will sort it all out when he returns sometime soon.

there were some who disagreed and said cures can still be sought.. but i thought about that.

Once you start thinking about this logically, it really does seem absurd to the extreme that an apparant loving, just God would arrange for all forms of life to suffer, with some really terrable ailments, not only mankind but also all the innocent animals and sealife. Just think of the awful horrific ways that animals regularly get torn to shreads often while they are still alive. According to the witnesses this is allowed to go on simply to make a point to Satan and his demons that man needs God. Well I'm sorry but there is no way I could ever respect or love someone like that. Just imagine if it was your son or daughter that had messed up, yes they may need to be punished but that would be the end of it. The punishment would not go on for 6000 years or more to all there children and children's childen. Sorry for being so blunt but I feel this is the only way to look at it.

Kingdom Ministry for all to see

just a thought, but how about if somebody who is still fading get's a scan of the kingdom ministry every now and then.

this will enable many of us with families in the borg to know what our loved ones are currently being told to do.

this in turn may enable us to expose the gross manipulation that is carried out by the society.

It need not be the whole rag but the parts that are of interest to those of who have got out.Maybe could include service report for the month or where assemblies will be, or maybe a question box that is of interest to us like the September 2007 copy. Like I said just a thought.

1914, Generation doctrine belief change!

i had the dubious pleasure of explaining the 1914 generation change doctrine to a relative who has been a jw for all of his life the other day.

he didn't even know that there had been a generation change and that the wt was no longer claiming that those alive in 1914 would still be alive when armageddon struck.. however, he said he would only believe me if i could tell him the exact date of the watchtower that explained this change.. though i know it is 1995, i do not know the exact date/issue and he refused to research it claiming it would show lack of faith on his part if he questioned his beliefs....but he said he would look it up if i told him which issue it was.. so, please, could anyone direct me to the exact issue in which this world shattering event was revealed?.

i remember, many jws, especially elderly ones being shocked at this revelation, but obviously this particular relative was not concentrating at the time!!

Although it's been over 10 years since this change, I really wonder how many witnesses understand it. There is no question that if you open your bible to Mat. 24: 34 Jesus clearly shows that the generation he was there speaking to would not all pass away before the destruction of Jerusalem. Even if we accept that this has a future fullfillment as well, the same meaning of generation must apply. I beleve that this was a real turning point for the borg and since that time they are having to change many other things, including the doing away of 1935 as a time when the 144000 had all been gathered.

Length Of WTS Indoctrination Program

when i was in the wts, we were instructed to only allow a person to "study" the wts bible-aids for a period of six months.

I thankfully have not had any association with the witnesses for over 10 years now, but I imagine things will be different now. Years ago there was much increase in the borg in the western world so if someone did not accept the 'truth' in 6 months the advice was to move on and spend time with someone who is more teachable. Now days there is little or no interest in the west so I am sure the borg would advise spending as much time as possable with someone to get them on board.

There are two classes of annointed - why?

before the may 1st qfr there was 4 classes of annointed.and these were: 1. the annointed from 1935 (governing body members)2. the annointed from 1935 (non governing body members)3. the replacements since 1935 (governing body members)4 the replacements since 1935 (non governing body members) then the may 1st qfr did away with 1935( and naturally the 144,000 limit) and the replacements so only two classes now exist: 1. the annointed (governing body members )2. the annointed (non governing body members) there is still something wrong with this.

the annointed of the governing body are higher up on the power flow chart than the annointed jw church goers are.

according to the bible this is wrong.the bible does not mention two heavenly callings of two separate classes.

Very wise my dear Watson. I totally agree with you that the next logical step by the borg will be to say the 144000 stands for a complete number not a literal 144000. It will simply be put down to new light and the r & f will have no trouble accepting it. Many already I'm sure are wondering why the ' anointed members are not going down, this possable change may well be enough to keep them onside.

i think doing such was a huge mistake on their part, and here's why:.

1) they were not able to bury the information.

Good points made Arthur, My son is still in the org. and at present he can't believe it is the increase in info. on the internet that is having such an effect on their numbers in the western world. I imagine many feel the same way and just feel it is proof that the witnessing is nearly finished in the stagnent areas.

Has anyone the attendance figures for 2007 memorial?

i know the memorial figures are not a very good indicater of how the borg are doing but the figures can certainly be compared with last years.i guess there won't be a worldwide figure yet but possably there will be totals for some individual countries available.

i am from the u.k. and the totals will probably have been published in the kingdom ministry by now.

This is exactly the sort of imfo. the public needs to keep clear of this totally dominating org. I personally do all I can to make people aware of the many things that are wrong with being a JW.
