Gayle You are certainly correct about 2009 regular pioneers figure. As you say it is 638.
I'm wondering if the Feb 2011 KM figure is a misprint and should in fact be 654 This would make the 12% figure make more sense.
To be fair to the society, they don't often get their figures wrong, but maybe this time they did. I really can't see them fiddling these figures on purpose.

It's the 2010 service report that most of us want to see. Fokyc said the Yearbooks have not arrived in UK yet, but surely they are out in the USA by now.
If someone has one PLEASE can we have a scan of the worldwide report

Can you see a JW doing this? Absolutely not..........
by WingCommander in.......they would merely give this guy a watchtower or awake!
magazine and tell him to, "keep warm, and well fed", and then be on their way to the next pedestrian.
one man, however, stopped to offer a lending hand and it has paid dividends.

Jehovah's Witnesses and the Media
by Spade inhttp://www.watchtower21.org/2011/01/jehovahs-witnesses-and-media.html.
at times, jehovah's witnesses are mentioned in the media in connection with a violent crime.
people shouldn't always believe everything they read--especially, it seems, on the internet.

Spade To put it in a nutshell. Any group that regularly make themselves out to be much better than the average, is going to get slated when their religion produces the same problem people as say any other religion. If they said that they have exactly the same problems as others and that they are no better or worse, then no one would have a go at them. Quite simple really.

Is this Loaded Language in the 2011 Calendar?
by maninthemiddle ini think it could be fair to say, that if paul spoke for jesus, then "revealed truth" could be a valid description since the scriptures say he visited them several times, but i think the loaded language comes in when you try to apply this to modern times, (wts a modern paul?).
i see this as trying to mold the first century to fit the current wts/jws.
what do you think?.

They really are very crafty. They have the 'brothers' going in twos (just like most of them do now) and they have bags with scrolls in, which will immediately get the JW to think 'yes we do that but with the bible and magazines.'
They are desperate to try and show how alike they are with the early christians.

Although a Uni education can be good, certainly here in the UK there are many graduates that are finding it hard to get a job. (Sorry for sounding like a Watchtower article.)
The truth is you can actually make a very good loving by being trained as an electrician or plummer etc. If I'm honest both my sons could have got better paid if they had followed the skilled manual jobs route rather than gone to Uni.

Another hammer blow for the WTS from the Internet
by besty inlatest pew research reveals that 18-29 year olds now use the internet as their primary source of news.
interesting correlation between education and primary news source as well.. http://people-press.org/report/689/.
the national survey by the pew research center for the people & the press, conducted dec. 1-5, 2010 among 1,500 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, finds that more people continue to cite the internet than newspapers as their main source of news, reflecting both the growth of the internet, and the gradual decline in newspaper readership (from 34% in 2007 to 31% now).

Gerard You are right but I would say it won't be long before they catch us up or at least get more reliable and widespread internet access.

Thanks for that besty. I really am not surprised by that. I guess most youngsters when they log on to the internet go to the home page first, and that is where the links to the news can be found. I have retired now and still use the TV for news although I certainly use the internet as well

I thnik that is spot on.
I and others, constantly show JWs where they are wrong on different forums, and it does not seem to make a lot of difference. Unless they perceive that you have something better to offer, they are not interested. I guess we all need to get a bit smarter in what we say to them.
