yesterday, i was having a horrible day....(some of you may know).

well i was given the 2 hour long conversation on "how i am a evil unacceptable person".

as in my last thread, i stated that my sister went threw my house and found pictures of my children in their halloween costumes.

Re-read the description you gave about your children. (Happy, funny, etc...)

Does that sound like the description of children who have a lousy Mother?

Have you ever noticed that when someone attacks you, they will hit you where they know it will hurt you the most?

For someone who is so worried about the demonism of Halloween, your sister should look for the source of demonism within her that would have her say such a horrible thing to her own sister.

That must be more of that exclusive Jehovah's Witness "love" we hear so much about. She's to be pitied.

Keep being a wonderful Mother and don't let this get you down. When someone can't manipulate you with guilt, they often times will try to cut you off at the knees in some other way. Recognize it for what it is, and let it roll off. You don't need her validation about your parenting abilities. You can see it in the way your children behave!

we have a kind considerate and loving individual who needs our support and love.. this is someone who has posted helpful information, encouraging words and shared himself with us when we needed it.

i'm talking about our good friend auld soul.

It is important for you to know how helpful you have been. Through your pain and trials you have helped many others. You helped me more than you can ever imagine.

It is nearly impossible for me to express exactly how much I appreciate your posts and how inspiring you have been. You care for others and it shows. And that makes the rest of us care MORE!

Thank you for all that you have done. I will be praying for you and I hope that you will see that we love and care very deeply for you and that you are valued more than you can comprehend.

Sometimes you can get a little burnt out and discouraged, and maybe you need to take a break and go do something you enjoy. Something to take your mind off of the JW issues for awhile. I get a little overwhelmed at times, so I go out and brush my horses and sink my nose in their manes.. I love the smell of them and that just eases my mind so much. Balance is important. Sometimes your heart and mind become weary from trying to save the world. That's Jesus' deal. He's great at it! Just do what you can when you feel up to it, and spend some time enjoying the blessings of life.

And don't forget that you are a blessing to US! Take care of yourself and if you need prayer in a specific area, don't hesitate to let me know!

Hello ..Im Mentalist

after starting a thread yesterday and taking in the various responses i feel i should set the record straight on a couple of things.over the last couple of days aswell as here i have joined jwo and slippys too.im not a troll but im not a board virgin either.these three particular sites have been mentioned to me (not quite recommended)by an ex-witness, so i thought id have a look see for myself.

it feels like i know several characters already very well (having had indepth conversations about them)but im very suprised at the size of the community you have here.i was raised a witness but never baptised.family still all are and in fairness treat me very well as do members of my old congregation when i bump into them.i guess thats enough for now,cant be giving too much away this is the internet after all.

btw..at times i realise i am not the best speller in the world(i struggled all the way through school),but to those people who replied to my thread just to point that out..bite me!your no different than the the type of elder who completely missed the point of how hard it was being a young jw but still took great pleasure in telling you how sports socks were not appropriate attire for the meetings.sheesh.

One more thing: Maybe you could ask her to show you from the BIBLE ONLY, proof that what she is telling you is true. Where does Jehovah specifically say that IN THE BIBLE? Don't bring any other literature, ONLY THE BIBLE. Show me that what you are saying is true from the BIBLE, and I'll think about it.

My Aunt was similar--though not a JW. My Dad used to say, "I know she is a little extreme, but she means well."

Just remember, this lady is terrified for your child. She is obviously in a panic. She is also on the verge of going off the deep end, from the way it appears. Don't be surprised if a breakdown occurs.

Maybe you could send a letter back to her, being as kind as possible. That you appreciate her concern, but that this is a matter between you and your husband. Maybe you could ask how it came to be that she feels she has the authority to send you such a letter asking these questions? Have they changed the rules on women becoming elders?

Tell her that you love her, but that this matter is personal and does not involve her input.

Express concern about her mental stability and tell her that you will pray for her.

If she continues to harrass you, and you perceive to be a threat, I agree with the others that you should consider taking legal action. Your first concern is your child. You just don't know what someone in that state of mind will do. Aggitating or arguing with her may not be the best thing. Try to be kind, but firm. POlitely let her know that it is none of her business.

dear all,.

i thought i'd best make a new thread rather than add my message to the vigil thread, for example, as it might not otherwise get noticed.. yesterday afternoon i was allowed home from the hospital - but only until wednesday morning!

as many of you will know, i have been in christie cancer hospital in manchester, england, ready to undergo a stem cell transplant (in my case, stem cells taken from my blood to be returned later).

Where were you when the realization hit, that the WTS was not in the truth?

i was listening to a testimonial by valerie acuff and she said that she was sitting in an assembly, looking around at the crowd and thinking to herself, "this is your family, these are your people.".

she said at that moment she heard a voice inside say, "these are not your people, this is not your family, get up and leave now, and don't ever go back.

" so she took her two children at that very moment and left, and she never went back.

I just wondered if you would share the "moment" you had, when you KNEW the WTS was not right and that you needed to leave? Did you leave immediately, or did you stick around to try to help get others out also? Are you a Christian now? What have you done since you left? Are you interested in helping others (not necessarily just JW exit)?

We have a mini-blizzard here in Indiana, so I will be snowed in all day. It was all sunshine and daffodils yesterday. They say if you don't like the weather in Indiana, just wait a minute. It's true! It is suppose to be melted off tomorrow. Looking forward to all the posts. I'll be on a lot today.

can some please paraphrase their favourite part?

Maybe you could go to a book store and browse it whenever you get a few extra minutes. It's a good-sized book, but you could glean a lot from it, just by scanning the parts that interest you most.

Peace and Joy, due to the fact that your Salvation is secure. It does not hinge on what you"do" or "don't do".

A personal relationship to the one and only TRUE God!

A desire to use your own personal, special gifts, in order to show the love of Christ to others.

No need to join a "club". You can worship anywhere at anytime.

Only one "book" required: The Holy Bible

Downside: If you love being selfish, if you want to be bogged down by rituals and studies, if you desire man-made rules, if you like to be spiteful and hateful, if you want to keep track of everyone else's sins, if you want everything to make absolute sense from a human stand point, if you need opinions from every Tom-Dick-&-Harry about what is right or wrong, etc......THEN this may not be for you.

What is the best question to ask a j.w. during a Bible study?

last year, i dropped by my daughter and son -in-laws' house just when they were having a bible study, and i was invited to "sit in" on it, and be an observer.

i didn't ask any questions, because i was not prepared for this event, so i "behaved' and just listened.

if i would find myself in this predicament again in the future, i wonder what question i would bring up that they would have difficulty answering, to show how the watchtower lies to new converts and worldly people when teaching them?

When we had a JW couple coming to our house for a Bible study, I asked this one question and I got a blank stare and a, "I kinda see what you mean." after a few minutes.

We're suppose to be having a BIBLE study. For the past six weeks we are studying a publication called What Does God Require? So, I ask:

"You know, when we started this whole thing, we all agreed that we would be studying the BIBLE. So far, all we have been doing is studying this publication. Then you give me more publications to read in between. Then some little books with colorful pictures and someone's opinions of what they think the BIble says. Yes, there are lots of Bible quotes, but they jump around to so many different subjects, and they aren't even in the same context of what they are suppose to be proving at times. I thought when you said we were going to study the BIBLE, that we would go straight to the Bible, and study Galatians, or Romans, etc..., IN THE BIBLE! When are we going to actually do that? I mean this other reading is not exactly studying the BIBLE. I want to study THE BIBLE!"
