  I've reached a turning point in my life

  last may, i finally admitted to myself that i am an atheist.

  to me, being an atheist means that i don't believe any of the silly nonsense that puny humans have come up with.

  many of the religions of man were started during a time when mental illnesses went undiagnosed and misunderstood, a time when man couldn't explain why lightning struck the earth or why rain fell.

  Well you make logical error in your thinking process. You admit that 1st law of thermodinamics is law of this Universe, and still you want to apply the law to this "stuff" outside this Universe, which is not obviously true! So what's wrong to have uncaused cause for Universe? The correct logic would be "Everything what had begining, had cause of this begining". But it does not apply to objects which does not have begining. You just want some object without begining which you don't like for philosophical reasons to substitute with more comforting thing without begining which complains to your expectations... why?

  my wonderful, never- a -witness -husband, would like to know, who thinks there is one true religion, and why?

  If there is only onte truth (one reality) then there is only one true religion! Problem is that we, as sinful beings, are not able to identify it for 100% And yes, there is no one true religion if religion is assumed to be something like WT or RCC organization. True religion is invisible. In Christianity it it teaching about Una Sancta!

  there are so many ways to get into this topic; homeopathy, astrology, feng shui, alien abductions, seances and so on ad nauseum but let's pick a simple one - mathematics.

  do you accept the undeniable logic that 1+1 must always equal 2?.

  i cannot conceive of a situation where 1+1=3 but there was a time when i did!

  will the child abuse situation blow up in the society's faces?.

  how world wide do you think its effects will be and when?.

  i am only interested to know because if i share with other witnesses i'd like to know how much they will of heard and how much it'll matter, at the moment it seems its not recieved as much media attention as he catholic church for example, will this change?.

  hey, anybody else check this out yet?

  i was just watching the colbert report and heard about wiki scanner--you can now scan to see which organizations have been editing at wikipedia.

  i tried it and there were 18 results containing the word watchtower.

  i've recently begun challenging my beliefs.

  all my beliefs, including those ingrained in me as one raised "in the truth".. a few years ago i sought therapy for chronic depression and my treatment was remarkably successful.

  as a side effect, things that used to "work" for me no longer fit with the new emotional pathways and strengths i was developing.

  page 93 of the 1991 "flock book" discusses the treatment of victims of sexual abuse.

  it states that elders should always do what they reasonably can to protect children from further abuse; follow the society's direction on such matters.

  isn't that somewhat of an oxymoron?
