Does the Bible's '2 witnesses' rule give evidence of divine inspiration?
by scout575 inat deut 17:6 the law is given that states that for the death penalty to be imposed on someone guilty of a capital offence, there have to be 2 or 3 witnesses to the crime.
if there weren't at least 2 witnesses then no conviction could be made and therefore no punishment meted out to the offender.. consider the following scenario: an israelite girl is being sexually abused by her israelite father ( incest was a capital offence under the mosaic law - leviticus 18:6,29 ).
she approaches the city elders and tells them what her father is doing to her.

Another scenario. Fathed does not allow his doughter use drugs and throws out her does. She get's angry, summons 2 witnesses and goes to city elders and sayes her Father abuses her. 2 witnesses agrees and her Father dies.

Who's name are Christians persecuted for?
by NowImFree ini have had the following realization before, but it just hit me again last night.
i am reading this book called daughters of hope, it is about christians being persecuted around the world and their stories.
in reading this book last night, it hit me again, all these people were being persecuted and killed for the name of jesus, not jehovah.

rather than executing david, what punishment does god mete out?

i was told by a jw that getting a tattoo was going against jehovah, and that he forbid them is that true?

Tatoos was forbiden for Israel in Mosaic law... Today... today God does not look upon your face. But there is allways question WHY you do some tatoo, this answer to WHY can be the one which is against God!

Was Jesus predestined to die?
by ringo5 inaccording to wts, the first prophecy in the bible (gen 3:15) applies to jesus and was partially fulfilled when the he died on the cross stake.
so how did jesus or anyone that had anything to do with his death have any freewill if he was predestined to die?
say the jews had decided they kinda liked him or thought he was at least entertaining and decided to let him hang around?

Somebody is not understanding predestination. Have you playet Role Playing Games (not on computers). There you have free will to do whatever you like, but anyway gamemaster can tell what will happen even it hapenned. So you still have free will, and still you are predestinated to do something game master have planned!
