Because Word of God is Word of God no matter who is speeker. Word of God has it's own power to create faith in ones who listen. But deeds of men are deeds of men. So that's what Christ says... hear the Word of God, but do not copy behaviour of preacher by default. Listen to Word of God and it will tell you what to do!

What's the intent of Mat.23:1-3 ?

Question: Why was it ok to sell unbled meat to a foriegner for them to eat?

21 "you must not eat any body [already] dead.
so, it is obvious that this is why they could not eat a animal that they found that had died, say from natural causes.

Also interesting part is Lev 11: 39 If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean till evening. 40 Anyone who eats some of the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening.
As you see... not a big deal about eating unblead meat. -

Lurkers, I have a legit question, that is mind boggling to me.
by A-Team in#1, 1 cor 10:9. the nwt translation puts the word jehovah in place for christ.
yet, when using the kit greek,my greek, and a online greek bible, christos is written in the chapter, and not jehovah....yet many jws will argue up and down that jehovah is to be there....dispite the fact that the greek word for jehovah was never even used.
how can one logically argue that christ is not suppose to be there, when their won greek translation has it in there??

if you find an expelled person in the field or are studying with one, you are no longer permitted to give them lit.
presumably the elders make a decision if an expelled one is regularly attending meetings, but only they can give them lit.

Need help to start Religious Cult, want to have my own kingdom
by Brain Dead inwell actually i was thinking about starting my very own religious cult, i would be king and master over my own kingdom and i would have my very own discrete salves.
and i would live in a big ivory tower so i could stand on top of my tower and look out at my vast kingdom that my discrete slaves had built me........yes.
and once a day i would go down to the financial department and count all the millions that my slaves had brought me....aw millions, millions of pretty little dollars....aw....aw.

Misquoting Jesus-a must read
by dawg ini've read comments from those of you that still cling to the bible stating that there's no merit in the di vinci code's claim concerning the conference in nicea in 325. we all know that book is fiction but like all great fiction, there's some truth behind the story.
some of you have made statements that the nt was actually written by the apostles, which i refuted, and after asking for and not reciveing information from you believers any bible scholars anywhere that would go on record saying they believed the nt was in fact written by the apostles; i decided to researcht he subject on my own.
i could find no scholars that believed the apostles wrote the nt; as a matter of fact, they all said the apostles couldn't have written them.

frankie, that's da problem. Cherry picking. What was context of "do not judge". I can show you the same bible where we are bound to judge and ordered to judge. Non believers like to use this "do not judge" to smoke-cover "allow me to do whatever I want to do, so I will allow you to do whatever you like to do". Or in another words - "leave me alone". THen question arises, should it applie to all cases or I can intervene whenever you are crossing red light and bus is approaching even if you dont know it? Would you like to be judged whenever you do mistake? If no, then so be it, but there are plenty of ppl out there who want to be disciplined if they are putting themselves in danger. And I doubt you follow your own rule when it comes to judging and disciplining your own children.

by NotaNess ini'll start it off, then someone else give them a different challenge if you can think of any.. please give definitive examples that by evolution, a species has changed into something else.
give two separate findings by scientists, and it can't include any comments like "so we believe", "so we conclude that", or "the evidence shows that there could have been".....the wts has those copyrighted.. try and give un-doctored photographic proof, where possible, etc.
by the way the hominid skulls and the like will not be accepted, transition has never been proven, i don't think, just that they are different, and scientists "believe", they are pre-homo-sapiens.. i'm not saying you won't have examples, we just want you to walk the talk.
