Automatic DA?ing of anyone taking a blood transfusion, now in the U.S!

Thanks "blondie!" It's not totally clear to me right now, but I believe the change was made outside the US first, then made here in the US, about a year+ ago, when CO's read a letter to elders. This recent letter to elders in the US (about 2 weeks ago), reafirms the policy, but is given directly to elders, to be filed in their "book of letters" from the Society.
Thanks for your input here!

As a JW, did you ever date someone who was not?

I dated a number of Witness girls, but none of those relationships went anyware. However, as a younger, active JW, I also went out with a few ?worldly? girls from school and work. I never felt bad that I did it, but I was very nervous that JW?s would spot me on a dinner-date or something; I was an MS at the time. How many of you folks went outside the JW-network for dates, knowing that if you were found-out, you'd be in a heap of trouble?

You're right, Rick!
They can DA you, but the blood issue isn't covered in the "worship" book (the prior book, United in Worship, did have a chapter on blood). This is really "over-the-top" for me! I can't believe they would take this stand, when the blood issue isn't clearly explained. How can they do this to people? Finally, do they have any scriptures to back up their DA policy, generally speaking? I do not know of any!

Yes nicolaou ,
This apparently, is a global trend that didn't originate in the US! Eventually, I suppose, all "sins" will be grounds to be DA'd! This prevents long elder meetings and more importantly, law suites! To me, this is what they are really trying to avoid! They's recently lost a lot of money in law suites! Good comment Nicolaou!

The Spiritual Raping of a Witness
by Blueblades infrom diane wilson's, "awakening of a jehovah's witness", page 265.. the society says:"rape flourishes in societies that tolerate violence and sexual manipulation.
" ( aw 3--8--93, p.4 ) what a striking parallel to "spiritual rape", which flourishes in a society that tolerates spiritual abuse and mind manipulation!.
the spiritual raping of a witness.. an organization.promises:problems are things of the past!

I recently talked to a JW ?Elder? friend of mine, who said that they just received a letter (US) from the Society, stating that they should ?DA? anyone who takes a blood transfusion. There is to be no judicial meeting to check for repentance (or even ignorance ? the basic publications for new JW?s do not even cover blood transfusions!), but only cold ?justice,? according to the Society?s ?rules.? I?m trying to get a copy of the letter and will post it here when I do. If anyone has already gotten a copy, please post it to this board for review. Although this ?DA?ing? policy has been in place in Europe for some time, it seems to me that this policy-change has only recently been transferred to the U.S. Are there any thoughts here?

Bid Farewell to Guilt and Regret.
by Blueblades in.
everyone's past is filled with regrets, mistakes and missed opportunities that still cause pain.these feelings are an index of our humanity, evidence that we have a heart and a conscience.. but from an emotional point of view, they are deadweights that keep us from moving forward.while they can't merely be willed away.i recommend you give yourself a good talking-to.. remind yourself that everyone has negative experiences.but whatever happened is in the past, and nothing can change that.holding on to the memory only allows the damage to continue into the present.. from the april ladies home journal page 82. yes i do read articles in my wife's magazines.i thought this piece might help some of us here on the forum.. blueblades

Yes, ?blueblades,? we need to ?move-on!? This board has and is helping me with negative feelings! But you?re right! We need to move on! We can?t change anything, so why torture ourselves with self-guilt, when in fact our ?ma-ma? organization is really at fault here?
Thanks for this post! We need to ?move-on!? Yes indeed!
