See, I look for some knowledge and all Sir82 can offer is sarcasm. He's angry! Dude, he's not angry. You really should try and develop a sense of humor and relax a bit.

The showy display of one's "friendliness" at the Kingdom Hall
by truthseeker ini recently read the elder's manual, from the rexamine.org website.. there is an interesting article on how elder's train ministerial servants to "greet" people at the doors.
they are told to be friendly to the those in attendance and to arrive early and stay late to associate with the friends.. in other words, it would seem that the friendliness shown by elders and servants at the halls is more of a duty than a desire to get to know the brothers and sisters.. many times, elders and servants have been enthusiastic to me in their greetings only, but rarely stop to engage in conversation.
they are not interested in people, only an outward appearance of friendliness, which bolsters the image of the org as having genuine love..

Many times, elders and servants have been enthusiastic to me in their greetings only, but rarely stop to engage in conversation.
That is one thing that really irritated me. If they could also provide a normal conversation along with the enthusiastic greeting then I'd be thrilled, but in the end
all you receive is this boisterous greeting and then nothing, no substance after that. So fake if you ask me.

Kingdom health advice
by buffalosrfree ini literally laugh myself sill sometimes, when i hear dubs telling others what their health problem probably is and how to cure it.
sister sore arm, tells other sister sorearmtoo that he problem is a lack of eating certain kinds of vegetables and fruit, sister sorearmtoo goes home tell hubby what she was told and for a week eats these vegetables and fruits, back at the meeting another sister, tell her no, its do to such and such and you have to do such and such to cure it.
so goes another week of following their advice, in the mean time she is ignoring all the advice from her medical dr. and just following the advice she is getting at god's "house.

On a side note:
Is there a part of my foot that connects to my penis?
Just wondering if I can get any stimulation from merely walking and running.

" OH i'm so much better, i went to brother dan and he manipulated my uterus!"
LMAO
I'm speechless... What could I have possible said to that, had I heard it first hand?
I think falling out of my chair would be the appropriate thing to do.

I contacted my Elder father and mom...
by White Waves inafter 8 mos of shunning acknowledged by familia and friends, i contacted my elder dad - mike, and he put my mommy on the phone for support - she was never the touchy feely type - more the depressed secluded type.
i wanted to know if my dad had any reason why i shouldn't send my official da letter to 2 congregations and parishioners (since my first request was denied).
he told me they then could have no contact with me, instead of limited contact.... i told them my jw family has had no contact with me since october and i did not even receive an invite to my baby sister's wedding in december- who i raised and cared for for 3 1/2 years while my mother was in a depression and had health problems.

I agree with 'Free'
I think it's better to take the high road and show behaviour that is better than the jw's. Later it could be enough of a seed to get some of the j-dubs to think and realize they are
not better than the 'world' and in fact may even be worse than the 'world'
Though I must say, it's hard to hold back from saying what you really want to say. Trust me, I hold back every day and it's tough!!

If a sign of God's people, is that the world would turn on them?
by free2beme in... wouldn't it make sense that they would actually be viewed enough as important, that they might be mentioned in the news a bit?
i can honestly say that i hardly hear of any witnesses being mentioned in the news and when they are, it is a small part that is hardly noticed and not flattering to the witnesses.
if i were to see this sign, as something that made you think a religion was god's chosen, simply on the idea that the world would turn on them.

And in my opinion, the JW's brought the persecution onto themselves.

Flood Legends
by Inquisitor inthe account of noah's flood has had its credibility beaten black and blue by current understanding of ancient history, geology and biology.
yet staunch christians, including jws, continue to assert that the existence of the many flood legends from all over the world proves that a global catastrophe must have occurred.
how would you respond to this line of reasoning specifically?

There are many different versions or legends of a Santa Claus, yet that doesn't make it true.

Loss of Elders
by metatron inlarge numbers of jw congregations are going to be trouble long before they lose their last elder to death or resignation.. most congregations i know have at least one - and often several - elders who can barely function at all, due to illness, old age.
or just plain inability to accomplish anything.
the society seems loathe to remove these men, despite their 'elder in name only'.

Not one young person as an elder hopeful, not one.
I consider that a good thing. Once upon a time I was a young MS and had I continued I would be one of those hopefull elders. I'm glad I woke up and I'm happy to see
that very few 'brothers' my age are considered hopeful elder replacements.

Is this the ultimate question to ask a JW?
by jwfacts inpeople always ask what subject they should raise with their jw relatives.
the problem is, what is important to you is often of no consequence to me.
no one knows what will be the issue to change a relatives mind.

True, but if you bring up things then someday they might come across the same questions that you asked earlier, and they might think about it even more and it might help them to decide to check it out.
That's my theory, anyway.
Hubert
Yep,, what do the Jdubs call it? Planting seeds? If we can plant our own seeds, someday they may grow.
