Am I wrong or is the first time it has been mentioned that viewing pornography could be a disfellowshipping offense? I believe it's the first time they've put it in writing. I Also believe it's an addition to their hundreds of rules they enforce. For instance, I know of a couple brothers that had visited strip clubs and later fessed up to the elders. The elders simply stated that they don't recommend or condone such behavior, however no judicial committee will be formed regarding a persons choice of entertainment. The elders stated the obvious that the brothers that are known for choosing such types of entertainment won't be considered for any type of 'priviledge' either. I guess things are different now. This was back in the late nineties when I still attended regularly. Since then, if things have changed, this is the first I've seen it in writing. Or maybe they needed to spank the monkey while watching the strippers in order for it to be a df'ing offense. Who knows?!!! I can't keep up the pharisee's rules!

"My Dad is Watching Pornography" JW TEEN part 2. BAD!
by Dune infor those who are not familiar with the story heres the page.

Great job Dune. Doing the right thing(as you did) can be a difficult thing to do, however you will always sleep better at night having made the right decision.
Who know, you may find that it's quite fun to call the police. I've called many times(for various reasons), and I'll never hesitate to do so again.

That article reminds me a lot of the 'elder school' notes that was posted by Sir82.
It's only fitting that the 'sheep' receive this wonderful 'new light' at the 'appointed' time.

Latest Adventure At The Hall
by ColdRedRain intoday, i made up my mind to be as big of an ass as possible at the meeting so they force me out rather than to whimper on my own and let the jw's say that "maybe he wasn't right for it afterall".
so first thing i did was i loaded up on liquid courage.
second thing i did was wore my "kiss my ass" t-shirt.

I may have asked you this before, but what congo did you attend in Minnesota? I may know people there. I might be able to get the 'scoop' on what everyone said.

Are the HLC familiar with the current directives?
In my opinion and experience you can get different answers from different HLC personnel. It's not as consistent as it should be.

by Jim_TX inthis afternoon, i took my girlfriend and her boy who is visiting her to sonic in a small town near here called castroville.
right next door to the sonic is a pizza hut.
we sat outside sonic at the tables, in the 92-ish weather, with a gentle breeze making the stay nice.

Yeah, my JW radar has been beeping every saturday for about a month now. Every morning that I'm out running errands I see a group of them.
I must say though, I've only seen spanish dubs out preaching,, it's been almost a year since I've seen any english dubs.
Second, why is it that whenever I see the spanish dubs,, they are always traveling in packs of at least a half/dozen while walking down the sidewalk?
Maybe it's for moral support.

Overheard at the June 4 2006 Watchtower Study
by under_believer inso, even back when i was a true believer i noticed this... .
this watchtower study today, i just got back from, was all about how great the elders are.
what always wigs me out about these things (because they trot this stuff out in a wt study every year or two) is how the elder conducting the study is up there talking about and praising the elders in the third person, saying how great they are, when he is an elder.

The good elders are the ones that end up here. The bad ones stay on in the congregation to love(beat) the flock.

New Here Sorta
by Jolinar ini stumbled across this site last august and created an account but a series of events led me to run away (i can post the story if you like) and i have been moving around a bit until i finally got settled some.
along the way due to my mother's sheltering i had some bad experience because i didn't know as much about the real world as i should have.
i ingested as i have before a psychoactive one night and a surge of memories came rushing back to me of my childhood and a massive handfull of them were tied to the time i was made to endure going to the kingdom hall and socializing with many members outside of.

I have JW relatives who are quite happy to admit having a computer but are quick to add "but I'm not connected to the internet".
UncB, I agree. I have elder relatives, each of which have very expensive computer systems, yet do not have internet access or at the very most have heavy
restrictions on it's usage for their children. One elder family in particular, all share the same email account. So if I send an email to one, they all read it! I kinda found out about their
email protocol the hard way! hehe.
I don't get it though. What's the point in having a nice computer with no internet? Paying bills online is such an evil thing to do?

Young witness disfellowshipped for having a mental illness
by What-A-Coincidence inthis is was very hard swallow.
i know of a family who has suffered tremendously when their son (15) came down with a mental illness - he cuts himself, has intended suicide 5 times.
he hard a hard time dealing with so many issues that he at one point told the elders i don't want to have anything to do with the jehovah's.

Good for you WAC. With caring apostates as yourself showing true love and care for those in the congregations, shows just how messed up the kingdumb really is.
25+% of all JW's are on some kind of dope for depresson
Yes, we can't prove but I agree with that. Also, when you add in alcohol usage along with those that use prozac, zoloft, etc, then I think the numbers are higher than 25 percent
regarding those using some form mood altering drug.
