i read here that jws were told in the km that they shouldn't wear jeans, t-shirts or shorts out after the convention or even in the loby of their hotel.
well, i am just curious to see what everyone else who still goes to meetings observed.
if you wore jeans, t-shirts or shorts, did someone say anything to you about it?
Just came back from some late evening shopping at Walmart and I saw a family of dubs, dressed in their convention clothes w/ badges. I kept my distance as I'm sure the smell of
wearing those clothes in excess of 12 hours(on a warm SoCal day), would not be pleasant.

Today, I was at the morning session with my wife. She's there right now for the afternoon,, I'm at home doing paperwork and then meeting a client in about 30 minutes.
I'll let you know if I see the dubs with their 'uniform' on and wearing their badge during the evening hours.
i just cannot understand how any one in their right mind can read the experiences here concerning the wachtower society's false claims, lies, trickery and deceit, and the example shown by the so-called "elders" in treating the flock with disdain and cruelty, and still stay a jehovah's witness.. lurkers, how can you do that?
do you simply dismiss all the evidence?
have any of you experienced such evil acts personally and still stay connected to the jw's?.
I originally 'lurked' here around the year 2001. I didn't sign as a member at that time, but I read through a good portion of the total postings over a two week period.
After that I never returned until about 2 years ago. I may not have accepted what I first read in 2001, but it did stay with me for a long time until my return in Dec of 2005.
For slow learners such as myself, we eventually come around to reality,, It just takes time.

In Florida, if you have money they bill you for your stay.If california is structured similarly, the public would not be paying for her incarceration.
I don't know if California will charge a wealthy inmate for their stay, but we do have 'pay jails' here, that are much nicer than a county jail. If you can afford it, a person can pay about 100 dollars per night to stay in a nicer jail.

I hate to be a killjoy because I'm not a big fan of Hilton-Lohan-Richie brat pack, but in reality most normal everyday people that get caught driving on a suspended license get from 0 to 3 days in jail. I've had several friends that have been caught driving with suspended licenses because they'd had it revoked on drunk driving charges, just like her. And most of them just received a fine and probation without any days in jail and none of them spent more than 3 days in jail.
She was already on 3 yrs probation and violated it by driving on her suspended license. That is why she was sentenced to jail time.
Driving on a suspended license without being on probation is one thing,, when you are already on probation, then it is much more serious. She actually got off quite easy.
Anyone else here in california may have received 6 months in jail, which usually comes with the consequence of losing your job.
only once in my life have i heard of a congregation being dissolved (closed down) for reasons of sin.. .

Yep, you can count my family in that category. One big ass family of j-dubs.
i had a sandwich at subway today and my seat was near the door.
one of the patrons left with his buddy and i could hardly believe my eyes.
i'm no prude but it turned me off to see the belt line of his jean shorts down to the middle of his thighs.
I know a few police officers that love the low hanging pants thing. The cops don't have to run very hard or far to catch the thugs.

for myself i was born into it so there wasn't really any choice for myself, but now that i've been out of it for some 30 yrs.
my wife is having a problem.
she has so many issues and is always talking to her parents about them.
they consistently agree with her, to the point that they skip meeting where things they don't agree with are discussed.

Get her to disagree with everything WT related and then she'll have to skip all the meetings.
