It's already being reformed, from the ground up. Most Witnesses are either children of Witness parents or have been converted in the last 15 years and they hear the same shit from the platform but don't really believe it and do their own thing as their human consciences dictate. It's a much different religion than it was 30 years ago and it has nothing to do with the GB or the literature. My opinion based on what I've observed. I'd have more to say but I'm tired and it's bedtime.

I've been ripped off twice on ebay but otherwise it has been a good experience. One jerk emailed me about a hundred times when what I sent him was exactly as described and I lost my money and he got to keep the item. He even left me my first negative feedback and I've amassed 427 positive feedbacks. It's overall a good thing. And, a word of advice, if you can get a Kingdom Interlinear, they sell for 25-30 dollars easy.

I downloaded the Kingdom Melodies in the orchestra format a couple of years ago, some of them anyway. If somebody wants a copy I'll burn it and just reimburse me for the shipping charges and envelope (send me a PM).

Instead of having an answer buried on this boad, I refer one to Greg Stafford books which make excellent defenses of the New World Translation. JWs can be criticized for many things. Their Bible is the least of such criticisms. (BTY, has any anti-NWT ever actually read the appendix to the NWT?)

Exacty how do you know this is true? From one man's account (Mr. Raymond Franz) who took no part in the committee and work in preparing this translation? You (and your ilk, the anti-JW born-again NWT-is-garbage crowd) make so many unfounded accusations against JW theology I wish I had a nickel for each misinformed posting. Also, you obviously copied that work from some anti-JW site. Give "credit" where "credit" is due.
there is a geat amount of confusion among early christian trdaition as to when jesus died, some have said about 130 different opinions were held.
the nt doesn't help pin it down as the dating in luke doesn't work.
anyway the tradition that eventually won out was that jesus was baptised about 29/30 and killed 1-3 years later.. on another site someone speculated that it was jewish tradition that indirectly helped establish this timeline.

i have read on here over the past few years many threads pertaining to "the fall of the wt" most recently the "divided branch" one and also if jwish will become more mainstream.
i think that jw's today are vastly different than several to a few decades ago.
for instance, i am an active jw and i go through the motions and i can probably acurately assume that i am not alone... in fact there are many like me i am sure.
I haven't had much to do with Witnesses for 8 years now. My most recent episodes (in the last couple of weeks) were: an attractive young woman coming to my door to preach the good news BY HERSELF. Totally not allowed when I was a dub. Second, my ex-wife who is a practicing dub was going to let me sleep IN HER BED with her overnight even though we're divorced and I am disfellowshipped. No hanky-panky was going to occur but I guess the times, the are a 'changing.

i was unable to quote the precise statement, but it is as close as i remember without recording his statment.. so one more negitive about the org.

i was baptized in 1986 at the tender age of 11 yoa, but i remember after sitting through that stupid talk (where i almost fell asleep, no kidding) and then prayer, then getting dunked, then they announced a welcome to all newly baptized people and said "welcome to the great crowd" .
it's so weird remembering that specifically.. now i think, welcome to the great dwindling crowd of duped people not going anywhere.
I was baptized in 1989 and I recall something similar being said by the brutha giving the talk.
I can hardly forget a moment of it, from sitting up front to waiting to be called, to getting dunked, to changing clothes.
