on thursday night, joe nichols played at the state fair here.

after the concert he came into the beer tent with his band members and security guards to drink.

according to christs words at the last supper, his followers were to "keep doing this in remembrance of me" but st paul says that by taking the emblems we are declaring the death of our lord "until he arrives".. the greatest man book (i've been looking at it) says the "arrival of the son of man, jesus christ, with the angels must be invisible to human eyes.

the arrival occurs in the year 1914.

if the gb really believe this why are they still doing the memorial road show?.

as i said in another thread, most of them started partaking the emblems after 1935. that's a clear sign that there's a corrosion of the "remnant" doctrine, because now most of the governing body are considered "replacements" of 'anointed ones who have fallen away'.

i finally found out the new gb members' ages.

ok, some people may call me a heartless bastard for making this thread, but i have to be honest.. i really don't care about the hurricane victims.

i highly doubt that the people walking through walmart with shopping carts full of clothing and electronics would send me one f'ing red cent if i was in need (and i am in need, by the way).. i just can't find it in my heart to care at all.

maybe i'm the only one who thinks like this, but i've been struggling to survive for the past 2 years and no one has ever lifted a finger to help me.

I feel sorry for them. I also feel sorry for my dying grandmother, dying father, troubled future wife, neighbors in need, MYSELF in dire need. I thank Bog in heaven I'm not in New Orleans proper, but I'm not faring much better. My sympathy guage can only reach a certain limit.

how do the elders really deal with cong.

members with drinking problems.. i find that i have been drinking far too much and am trying to cut way down.

I would just ask the elders, "I need help, what can be done for me?

They are supposed to minister to you judgment comes if evidence of unrepentant behavior manifests itself repeatedly after the plea for help.

The reason I say this is, each congo is different. I would think some have elders that drink every night and some have teetotallers. When I was 23 or so it became knowledge to the elders that I liked to drink. Just one elder in passing asked, "How're you doin' with that?" I said, "Fine, fine." That was the end of it. I went on to become a full blown functioning ~~alcoholic~~ alcohol abuser. Big difference. I used to drink a ton but I quit and I can be around drinking or have a beer myself and have no problems "relapsing" as it were.
